Hello, Gpscholar, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Please do not remove maintenance notices from articles unless the required changes have been made to the article. If you are uncertain whether the article requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the article's talk page before removing the notice from the article. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. Thank you. GLBT symbols name change

It seems to me that the commonly used acronym is LGBT, not GLBT, and that the article should be chaged accordingly. Any comments? Wuzzy 20:20, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit of some article was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If you were experimenting, know that everyone really is welcome to contribute, but tests should be done in the sandbox. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept our apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. // Tawkerbot2 07:19, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

unblock

- Please don't block me because someone else using an AOL IP address is vandalizing pages!
No one has blocked you because of using an AOL IP, the AOL IP might get blocked which stops anyone using it from editting we cannot selectively allow certain edits to continue despite that block. AOL blocks tend to be short, so you should be unblocked by now, but we need to know more detail than you are just blocked, the block message gives a lot of detail as to why you currently can't edit, without that detai we simply don't have the information required to unblock, we don't mind read. --pgk(talk) 11:14, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
According to the block message:

Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by Freakofnurture for the following reason (see our blocking policy): "Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "MichaelCMoore". The reason given for MichaelCMoore's block is: "vandalism, user..."." Your IP address is 207.200.116.201.

I am NOT MichaelCMoore. I did NOT vanadlize. Why am I being punished for the actions of someone else? Wikipedia's blocking policy needs revision, as it should be directed at those who abuse their privileges in creating and editing pages, not everyone who shares an IP address. Please unblock me.

As I explained no one has blocked you to punish you for someone else's action, blocking the IP stops everyone who uses that IP from editting temporarily. You've been able to edit as you've placed the unblock tag on your user page, something you wouldn't be able to do if you were completely blocked. The blocking policy already says to avoid collateral damage as far as possible and indeed admins try to do so. In this case a user was blocked, as admins we don't see their IP address so have no way of telling if their's is from AOL. Finally blocking is preventative not punitive. --pgk(talk) 17:59, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Napoleon after Acimboldo.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. the iBook of the Revolution 18:47, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stop the BS!

Kindly stop that bullshitting on Transvestic fetishism - if you want an article about that pettycoat thing, write one, but under an appropriate title. Also, don't move pages around without a really good reason and preferably consent on the talk page, and don't try to make pages appear to be protected; you are not an admin, you cannot protect pages. Trying such stunts can get you in trouble, because obviously, you are ignoring the rules. -- AlexR

Page moves

The page moving related to petticoating has to stop. Please discuss in a appropiate forum, such as Talk:Petticoat Discipline. Dr Zak 14:38, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Transvestic fetishism

Hi, I've blocked you for 24 hours for messing up Transvestic fetishism or The Art of Petticoating or whatever you want to call it. I don't care what you want to call it, but take it to Wikipedia:Requested moves, stop messing around. - FrancisTyers 14:44, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't take it to requested moves -- wrong place. Just restore one of your articles which now redir to TVF, and be done with it. And stop vandalising TVF, or a 24 hours block will just be the beginning. -- AlexR 14:51, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blaming the victim

I was vandalized many times by Dr Zak, Mdwh, and others who took it upon themselves to delete content from my article, move it, redirect it, and otherwise butcher it without bothering to discuss their intentions or gather any support from anyone other than themselves. Of course, all these behaviors are also violations of Wikipedia rules, but they were allowed to act with impunity. Wikipedia's guidelines seem to apply to some but not to others, and appeals are difficult, complex, and time-consuming. It's a shame that a project such as Wikipedia, which is, in many ways a good idea, is bedeviled with childish and egoistic wannabe writers and editors who, unable to contribute anything of their own, seek to damage the work of those who can and do contribute. Wikipedia needs some controls against vandals who, as things stand at present, vandalize under the guise of "editing." Those of us who seek to revert to previous versions of our articles or try to counteract mischevious moves and redirects of our articles are falsely accused of "vandalism" by the very vandals who seek to damage and destroy. I can only hope that a similar fate may befall the vandals who have attacked the contributions I have made. Gpscholar 03:20, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Gpscholar[reply]

What exactly has that to do with the fact that yourself vandalised TVF several times? Besides, if what you said where true, actually, it is not so difficult to get help if you are a genuine editor. Unfortunately, your edit history so far puts you into the categorie of "crusader" which, you know, tend to run into problems. Why not just leave that article of yours unter Petticoating or whatever is the most common term, and link it in the appropriate articles? (Well, it does need to be NPOV, of course, too.) Instead you make up several articles, then make redirs, and whatnot, all very confusing -- and then you put the stuff into another article, removing all previous content, and moving it, so that this content is not only lost, but also that all links to TVF now give only information about one very particular sort of TVF. I am affraid that this constitutes plain vandalism, and even if the same happened to you, that is not a reason to act the same way. So one last warning: If, when your 24-hrs-ban expires, you start the same thing again, count on more bans. -- AlexR 08:05, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Petticoating and Petticoat

Whoa, whoa. You've taken a 2 page article about an item, and expanded it by 300% to 8 pages to include an elaborate discussion of a marginal behavioral matter, to bordering on a fetishistic fascination. (Sorry, I came up with that word _before_ I went and researched the background) This is not the way to resolve your problems with Petticoating. Please consider other options. If you have a desire for an article of its own for this, and others are having a problem with your choices, maybe it's time for mediation? Orphaned fair use image (Image:Element Lad b.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Element Lad b.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Gay newspapers online, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Gay newspapers online. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. AfD Nomination: Sexual idioms

I've nominated the article Sexual idioms for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Sexual idioms satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sexual idioms. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Sexual idioms during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. Shemale art

Shemale art has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this article is inherently non-neutral. Please review Wikipedia:Neutral point of view for the relevant policy. If you can improve the article or move it to a more neutral title to address these concerns, please do so. It would be a good idea to explain your reasoning on the talk page before moving the article.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. License tagging for Image:Bayba.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Bayba.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:05, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:'Salem's Lot cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:'Salem's Lot cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Fair use rationale for Image:Lost Reality cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Lost Reality cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have tagged the following images as {{no rationale}}, because they do not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the images to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page.

I've now reviewed all of your images. There are editors working on adding rationales to valid fair use images that have been tagged this way. If you return and some of these images have been deleted, you can contact the deleting admin if you think that you can provide a valid fair use rationale for the images. ~ BigrTex 16:19, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Dianai_Hignutt.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Dianai_Hignutt.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 15:31, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:12, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
