Cleaning up my attics
Hi, can you help compress User:Lenticel/Articles (compress the DYK's to simply state the date and the article name, I'll follow that format for newer DYK's), User:Lenticel/Barnstars (make them mini-barnstars) and User:Lenticel/Userboxes (make it more than one column to make it eat less space) Thanks --Lenticel (talk) 01:31, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

New humorous subpage
I was thinking of giving you something in return in fixing my pages so I think I'll simply give you an idea that would replace the WP:Screambox. I was thinking of Wikipick-up lines. It will be the community's help for those who gave so much of their time in Wikipedia that the chances of them getting mate is getting less than zero. Perhaps Keeper and you can formulate one on your user subpage. I'm not romantically successful so you're on your own here--Lenticel (talk) 10:08, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, it's very nice of you to want to return the favour, but actually I have never had a shortage of shit ideas in my head (the latest being a practical wake-up call to what doing harm to Wikipedia often looks like, at least in my opinion), nor do I have a shortage in girlfriends. On Kmweber
Dorftrottel, could you please cease on making sarcastic references and/or replies to Kurt's regular self-nom oppositioning reason at RfA? This issue has been hashed and rehashed for nearly a year now in every relevant talk page and dispute resolution forum as to his standard replies for such RfAs. Kurt will not change his mind, and the community has agreed that his decision is to be respected in good faith and let bureaucrats judge the weight and validity of the opinion in determining consensus. Such poking at his comments is a distraction from the discussion of the user at hand. A personal request to consider, happy editing to you. Keegantalk 06:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- No thanks. As long as RfA is a discussion, I will continue to express my opinion on the validity of other people's reasonings. Besides, my quipping comments may be viewed as a relief by some. Therefore, screw the rest who freely choose neither to assume good faith with me and my usually short comments nor to at least ignore them. Dorftrottel (troll) 06:39, April 10, 2008
- Fair enough. Don't get me wrong, I do not assume ill intentions in your posting, and I do appreciate the point (not point, but a valid point). I don't expect Kurt to stop opposing with the same reply, nor do I reasonably expect that people will not continue to question it. I just thought I'd ask if you'd reassess the opposition to the opposition, and it's fine if you don't. Happy editing to you. Keegantalk 07:00, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, I appreciate it. Btw, I'm aware of my tendency to pass up chances not to comment. Dorftrottel (complain) 08:33, April 10, 2008

kurt weber
As has been confirmed in numerous RfC's, numerous complaints on AN/I, and an arbcom appeal Kurt has the right to to oppose people for whatever reason he choses to do so. His position is well known and the 'crats will apply the appropriate weight to his !votes. The constant harassment of him and others who share his opinion however, is (IMHO) unacceptable. I have seriously considered starting an RfC against people who mock him. His !votes only become disruptive because others make it a point to attack him. Simply ignore his vote and move on.Balloonman (talk) 18:02, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- As an FYI, I crossposted this to the RFA talk page. Because it is a concern surrounding not just you, but others.Balloonman (talk) 18:19, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Harassment? Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm all for using that word for as many and as trivial things as possible so as to decrease its value. But RfAs are discussions. Nobody is forced to participate in any RfA, but if and when someone chooses to do so, they will do it under the condition that others may comment on the validity of their comments and reasonings. Harassment is a far stretch. I'm not trolling his talk page or anything. So go ahead with that RfC drama, I wish you a good time, as that will be the sole potential benefit of it. Dorftrottel (complain) 19:02, April 10, 2008
- Ah, cripes, dorf. Can't you just simply refrain from commenting on Kmweber's posts? Futile exertion of energy, IMO. Same as LGRdC. Not worth it. Just agree to disagree, stop posting everytime Kurt posts, and move on? I'm hopeful, but also realistic....Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 21:46, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Eek. Point taken. Please just don't mention those two in one posting again unless unavoidable. I know that Kurt basically has a good head on his shoulders and means and does no harm. May I occasionally post a "no comment" comment or will the drama-addicts abuse that for their purposes as well? Dorftrottel (warn) 23:41, April 10, 2008
- Posting a "no comment comment", besides being simply ironic, has connotations, and you know very well how some editors will respond to it because of the "history". For the love of "fucking like an animal" (call me troll, but I saw this post of yours somewhere, and laughed my ass off - my apologies to anyone else reading this that doesn't know the context, please note that it isn't meant as harmful to you, me, or Dorftrottel...), please just don't. (od) I guess at the time of above comment I hadn't fully appreciated the denseness surrounding this non-issue. Look, what I may do is post comments along the lines of the following: "I do fully recognise and agree with Kurt Weber's right to comment in RfAs the way he sees fit. Regardless of any of that, I also respect him as an intelligent and trustworthy editor in good standing and it is in no way my intention to harass or attack him in any way by commenting here. However, in following his decision to inform other users about his opinion in individual RfAs rather than at a central location, I feel it is both justified by the fact that RfAs are meant to be discussions, not votes, and also necessary to place a comment regarding my opinion on the validity of his reasoning in individual RfAs as well: In my humble opinion, Kurt Weber's reasoning is not logically valid." — Balloonman's actions and the aggressiveness he displayed are seriously disconcerting. If anyone, he should have some defending to do for himself, instead of continuing and escalating his senseless attacks. Not Kurt is being harassed, the candidates are, and now the people who comment partly out of empathy for the candidates. Dorftrottel (troll) 19:24, April 12, 2008
- To be clear, I probably won't actually post such a comment, but I want the right to do it. Dorftrottel (bait) 23:29, April 12, 2008

huh
"Balloonman does not allow me to freely participate Rfa's". Uhh, why not? SunCreator (talk) 18:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why. The interesting part is the how. He has used several very laden words against me, drawing from his phantasy and capability and willingess to assume equally good faith on all sides, alleging on my part nice things like
- constant harassment (of Kurt Weber)
- disruption
- YOU and not Kurt are the one creating the disruption!
- attacking and belittling [Kurt Weber and his position]
- badger(ing) kurt
- mocking and criticizing him/his position (again, Kurt Weber)
- nonconstructive disruption of wikipedia
- attacks, disruption
- I haven't counted how often he has used words like "attack", "harassment", "disruption" and expressed his deep-seated assumption of bad faith with me, but it was enough times for me to get mildly pissed.
- Very nice and coherent of him was also this strawman attempt:
- In fact, none of his assumptions and allegations are even remotely true (not to mention ABF). As I have repeatedly told him, I do respect both Kurt Weber and his right to comment in RfAs the way he himself sees fit. The ridiculous joke is that Balloonman (and others) demand that Kurt's comments be accepted/tolerated but at the same time they're unwilling to so much as ignore my comments which are, even if at times quipping, always and only expressions of my judgement on the logical validity of Kurt Weber's oppose rationale. Since RfA is, ostensibly but not any longer, a discussion, I was caught under the wrong assumption that I may comment on other's comments. Obviously, that is not true. Balloonman has decided that I cannot freely put good-faith comments in RfAs. Dorftrottel (talk) 19:20, April 14, 2008

RfA (hopefully not spam!)
I'm not sure if you are watching my user page or not, so i'm replying here, sorry if this does constitute spam. I think it's a shame to find some users are against self-nominations, considering it shows confidence and determination. In future, I probably will try and get a nomination from someone else (most likely whomever admin coaches me) and possibly try to get a co-nomination ;) I'll also remember not to reply to every comment added, but I'll make it my business to answer all questions. Thanks again for your moral support, if you were watching my user talk page, feel free to reply on there stating so in order avoid this confusion again ;) Kind regards, CycloneNimrodtalk? 15:05, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- First off: Personal messages like yours are never spam. "RfA spam" means generic mass messages, often not even including the proper addressee username but instead the {{BASEPAGENAME}} magic word. It was a custom for successful RfA candidates for a while and became annoying imho. As far as self-noms go: Echo that. In fact, if I were hell-bent on making a point, I'd could go right ahead and oppose all peer-noms as demonstrating a lack of confidence and determination, both of which are among the most direly needed qualities in new admins. Wrt answering all the questions: Definitely. I believe there is some notion finally going around that making the candidates answer 20+ "optional" questions (they are de facto mandatory, as not answering them will always draw some opposes) is not useful. At any rate, I trust you're aware that editing, not becoming an admin should be your primary concern, paradoxically (or not; depends on how you look at it) precisely if you're interested in helping Wikipedia out with the admin tools at some point. Best, Dorftrottel (ask) 15:24, April 18, 2008
- Well I'm glad we have the same opinions on all of this, makes it far easier to get along. I'll use you're advice in my next RfA, undoubtedly, since you've seen a lot more than I have. RE: the editing, not admin tools, i'd agree. That's why I stated on my RfA that my main concern even after obtaining such tools, would be to continue editing in my usual areas. The tools simply serve as an extra to make things easier and to help things go smoother both for me and for the rest of the community. Regards, CycloneNimrodtalk? 15:31, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Not the wikipedia weekly pages
Why did you tag them for deletion? I'm assuming it's because of the title change, but there are still incoming links to at least the latest one (per what links here, although it could be lagging), so those should be cleaned before deletion. - Bobet 02:57, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
