ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

When not to use cite web

In this edit to Bangladesh Air Force you switched a citation from {{cite news}} to {{cite web}}. According to Template:Cite web/doc, cite web is sort of a citation template of last resort, to be used only if no more specific citation template applies. The Business Standard is a newspaper. So the correct way to cite it is with cite news, which is for all news articles, whether you read them in print or online. --Worldbruce (talk) 23:21, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Applied Nanoscience

Hi there, I'm getting in touch with you for the recent edit. The original article was written in a way to defame the entity. The user who originally wrote that section was found to violate Wikipedia guidelines on numerous occasions if you'd see. Impact factor or indexing isn't a matter of controversy. Web of Science regularly adds and removes journals if they do not adhere to their quality guidelines. The removal from Web of Science means that the quality has gone down. A journal can either have an impact factor or not be indexed. There's no term called discontinued. It is similar to call a restaurant as Michilen Discontinued. Which doesn't make any sense. Web of Science doesn't specify why the journal won't be indexed for that year. So calling the indexing a controversy is a bit strange. Ozk7654 (talk) 14:39, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. The user's guidelines violations seem unrelated to the article in question (they seem to have misunderstood a standard template as an attack) and I see other, similar edits by that user that are still present in the relevant articles. I'm a recent changes patroller so I don't have any particular connection to Applied Nanoscience, but for controversial edits I would recommend creating a topic on the article's talk page so that people who are invested in/knowledgeable about the topic can chime in. At least for now I'm removing the wrong information on "Discontinued" and that Impact was not released in 2024. The re-indexed values will only come after 3 years and not consequently which is incorrectly stated in the article. Ozk7654 (talk) 17:36, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
