Frisby railway station was a former station serving the village of Frisby on the Wreake in Leicestershire. The station was situated at a level crossing on the road to Hoby.
History
[edit]The station opened in 1847 on the Syston and Peterborough Railway, but until 1849 it only had a service on Melton market days. It closed in 1961. There were no goods facilities at the station.[1]
Stationmasters
[edit]The station masters house was one of the smallest and cheapest on the line between Syston and Melton Mowbray. It was little more than a gatehouse[2] and this may have contributed to the relatively fast turn-over of station masters.
