Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana

Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is an initiative by the Maharashtra State Government which aims to promote economic independence of women in the state of Maharashtra, improve their health and nutrition, and strengthen their decisive role in the family. The initiative was launched in July 2024.[1]
Under this initiative, eligible women in the age group of 21 to 65 in the state of Maharashtra are provided with a financial benefit of ₹ 1,500/- per month.[1]
Applications

[edit]- Must be a resident of Maharashtra state.
- Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned and destitute women in the state as well as only one unmarried woman in the family.
- Until the minimum age of 21 years and the maximum age of 65 years.
- The beneficiary should have his own bank account linked to Aadhaar.
- The annual income of the beneficiary family should not exceed ₹ 2.50 lakh.
Required documents
[edit]The following five documents are required to fill the Ladki Bhain Yojana form.
- Aadhar card
- Domicile Certificate / Birth Certificate / School Certificate / Ration Card from 15 years ago / Voter ID Card from 15 years ago (one of these)
- Ration card/Income certificate (one of these)
- Letter of guarantee
- Bank passbook
Form submission
[edit]Initially, the scheme was given to Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi helpers, supervisors, village workers, ward officers, Setu Kendras, general women, etc. to fill the application form on the Nari Shakti Doot app and later on the official website of the Maharashtra government . However, as a precautionary measure, from September 2024, the state government has given the authority to fill the application form for this scheme only to Anganwadi workers.[2]
Application deadline
[edit]The Maharashtra government had initially given a deadline of 31 August 2024 to apply for this scheme. Later, the deadline to apply was extended to 30 September 2024,[2] and then again to 15 October.[3]
Benefits
[edit]According to the state government, 15.9 million women were provided benefits of Rs 4,788 crore over two phases of the initiative in July 2024 and August 2024.[2]
As of September 24, 25 million applications had been received, of which 24 million had been approved.
As of 15 October 2024, the total number of applications received on the official portal of Ladki Bahin Yojana is 11,270,261, out of which the total number of approved applications is 10,669,139. Due to the implementation of the code of conduct from 16 October, the scrutiny process of many applications could not be completed.[1]
