NASCAR 2021 should end on November 21, 2021 66.84.134.10 (talk) 21:04, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And where did you get this information? - Areaseven (talk) 05:04, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 12:24, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Schedule

[edit]

Could someone add the note that dates are subject to change since the schedule has not been officially been released? Thank You.

Tentative schedule

[edit]

Do I have permission from other project members to add schedule, or will I just have to wait until it's official? NASCAR Enthusiastnyoom 13:22, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please wait until official confirmation of NASCAR before adding this. --Mark McWire (talk) 13:34, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Can you try to explain that to User:United States Man? Thanks NASCAR Enthusiastnyoom 15:00, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No reason those dates can't be added. Tracks are confirming dates and races, so why are we not adding sourced information. This is Wikipedia, not NASCAR's website. We can use different sources. United States Man (talk) 15:01, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Austin Cindric is running a limited schedule in a fourth Penske car, number and amount of races TBD, that was confirmed alongside the DiBenedetto news. JCesar2179 (talk) 14:31, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

B.J. McLeod Motorsports will move up to the Cup Series full-time in 2021, with him and Matt Tifft getting the other half of the charter owned by Joe Falk.

No drivers have been announced, so do not add Matt Tifft as one of them since we don't know anything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JCesar2179 (talkcontribs) 16:30, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done, although I do not know if charter ownership really is an even half/half split and secondary sources are confirmed to Twitter. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 17:01, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2021 NASCAR Cup Series

[edit]

Ryan Ellis to return for cup series next year for limited schedule in the Go Fas car with number of races TBD and confirmed it on his Twitter. Source #1: https://twitter.com/ryanellisracing/status/1319397401485082626 Source #2: https://www.essentiallysports.com/nascar-news-ryan-ellis-to-return-to-racing-in-the-2021-nascar-season/

Not done Source 1 has him replying to this tweet, refuting the claim: [1] (obvious troll). In the second paragraph of Source 2 it says: "He then confirmed that he is not racing in the 32 Go Fas car just yet. However, he did confess that he would love to race for them." NASCAR Enthusiastnyoom 09:22, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done Ellis announced on fox 46 last night that he will now be driving for the team. Source: https://www.fox46.com/video/ryan-ellis-joins-csl-looking-ahead-to-2021-season/6014843/ NASCAR Enthusiastnyoom 20:56, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Found something showing that Kaz Grala will most likely for the cup series next year be for Go Fas car on limited schedule and races TBD for now. It reads as speculation, so it shouldn't be added to the article until it's verifiable fact. ~EdGl talk 19:53, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Crystal balling about official race titles

[edit]

The section of text which reads "Note: The title sponsors for most races have yet to be determined, and until they are, the title sponsor of the same race the previous year is listed" seems like a fairly blatant violation of WP:CRYSTAL to me. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 07:30, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done I've tried to fix this earlier, but other users kept changing the race names to their names in previous years, so I just gave up and put that little disclaimer above the chart. Now that I see it is a violation of standards, I have changed it back to the way it should be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NASCAR Enthusiast (talkcontribs)

Semi-protection request

[edit]

We've had a couple of vandalous edits on this article this week (including 1 editor whose edits we've had to revert twice in 1 hour). I think it's time to put it back under semi-protection for editing. IDK when might be the best time to have it end, but let's give it a few weeks, maybe.

Thank you,
Cavanaughs (talk) 20:18, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cavanaughs, just to let you know, this is not the right place to request protections. Use this page instead. NASCARfan0548  21:41, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would say that "would" would be extremely overused in articles that would be about NASCAR

[edit]

What's wrong with simple past tense? MaxBrowne2 (talk) 11:33, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am confused about what change you are requesting. Are you asking for most of the article's use of the word "would" to be removed? Any in particular? Jurisdicta (talk) 05:15, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm confused too. You say, "what's wrong with simple past tense," but in reality, the word would is by definition the past tense of will.

Drivers faces obscured in photographs

[edit]

I'm not sure why some of the photographs used of the top-four drivers have their faces obscured. The photograph of Truex is fine, but the photos of Larson and Elliott have them wearing sunglasses and Hamlin's face is obscured by shadow. I don't see any advantage to the current image of Larson over this photo of Larson. This photo of Elliott and this photo of Hamlin are from 2019 and 2017 respectively, but their appearances haven't changed since then, and the photo of Hamlin seems to be from 2019 anyway. Drivers

[edit]

Chase Briscoe also competed for the 2021 Rookie of the Year honors. Jaylon AngRoblox2009 (talk) 06:32, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

On August 10, 2020, Christopher Bell replaced Erik Jones in the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaylon AngRoblox2009 (talkcontribs) 06:42, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Crew chief for the race at the Martinsville Playoffs

[edit]

I think Tyler Allen was the crew chief for the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing, which is driven by Christopher Bell in the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Jaylon AngRoblox2009 (talk) 00:19, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Replacement

[edit]

Why did Andy Lally replace Kyle Tilley in the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports in the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Road Course)? 103.6.150.132 (talk) 00:21, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Crew chiefs

[edit]

Adam Stevens was supposed to be the crew chief for Christopher Bell and the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing in 34 races because Stevens was suspended for the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway after the No. 20 car's lug nut(s) was/were not properly installed in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaylon AngRoblox2009 (talkcontribs) 04:59, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
