Designed by DC Design?
[edit]Google search for "Al Araba 1" DC Design: [1] Perhaps it's true but it certainly doesn't appear to be verifiable. Dino246 (talk) 21:39, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- ^Comment to thisMandeep 619 (talk) 00:50, 7 January 2008 (UTC)The reason "Al Araba 1" DC Design dosent seem verifiable is because it was given the name al araba 1 when al-araba group stamped thier own badge on the car, when they started selling it. But originally it was called the DC Gaia before it went in to production so take these results DC Gaia Google Search Web Google Web Search On the Gaia And The Search in pictures Google ImagesMandeep 619 (talk) 23:45, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Mandeep 619 (talk) 00:50, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- The DC group is a co-operated company , but did not design Al-Araba 1 100%. A M M A R 07:48, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's what I figured. DC basically builds prototypes as a sub-contractor from what I can gather but there have been some pretty bold unsourced claims on a few Wikipedia articles that cars such as the Al Araba 1 and Aston Martin Vantage are actually Indian designs. There's a rather large difference between fabricating the prototype and designing the car. Dino246 (talk) 11:21, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- ^Comment to thisMandeep 619 (talk) 00:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC) You guys are right there is a rather large difference between fabricating the prototype and designing the car. So why you u guys claiming that al-araba did both when it didn't
- Yeh i understand , but the design of the car depends on much more things rather than prototype , such as upgrading that Mistubishi engine into 3.5 v6 , In Fact the DC group do not modify engines and automobiles internals . Anyways , i read alot of sources but didnt incude them because they ain't in English A M M A R 21:54, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

- Comment on EVERYTHINGMandeep 619 (talk) 00:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC) Hello I am Mandeep_619 first I would like to continue your discussion **IF** by any chance you where right which you are not what is something I am going to prove right now. Why was DC design given no credit in the first place. Second you guys have been asking me for sources and i have posted them the whole time under external links. Now to prove everyone wrong the first link is the dc design home page where many concept are shown including the "Al-Araba 1" the Aston Martin and some other cars which include a new ford or chevy i dont remeber and a few previas ford designs. the url is even though i already posted it. I would also like to say if Al-Araba-1 group did deign the car why didnt the create newer versions for the later years and I went to the Al-Araba 1 group website who do guys think somebody doing on his like thoose could create a car. I mean look at the car there is difference beween modifing a car(adding bigger rims cooler muffler, ect) and actually designing a whole new body.
- Website includes concept car only the latest one the older one include of 400 i think not sure
- http://www.dcdesign.co.in/[ your going to need flash]
- some other websites are
- The Al-Araba 1
- [2]
- [3]
- [4]
- The Aston Martin
- [5]
- [6]
- [7]
- [8]
- Please read all the links if necessary before making anymore coomotion and where it says DESIGNER IN DISPUTE please put in DC DESIGN FIRM HAVE A GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mandeep 619 (talk • contribs) 20:17, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- For previous webistes , Site1 You won't have heard of DC Design but you will have lusted after its latest offering - the Aston Martin AMV8 concept car that made its debut at the beginning of the year. (Public Comment) , Site2 (Public forum , non WP:RS) , Site3 (Relible source , This will make the Designer disputed between Sabri and DC) and about Site4 , there is no information about Al Araba1 in the whole website pages A M M A R 21:00, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- ^Comment on this Mandeep 619 (talk) 00:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC)On site Site1 The comment was made by someone outside of India there for they probably never heard of DC Design since non of thier products have ever entered the United States or any other country for that matter. AndSite2 Al-Araba Group has no rss feed, nor does google,or yahoo, infact there are more sites that don't have rss feed than sites that do. The main purpose of the rss feed is to supply new information on specific subject as it comes in. On that matter only a few sites have rss feeds like cnn and youtube. where you can subscribe to something or there is something new on the site. Now to Site4, so this is the only reliable site, why? Oh I know because it includes the al-araba companies name in it after all it also dosen't have a rss feed. And one more thing how come all the other sites said it was by dc and not al-arab. Also why didn't dc make its own name for all the other car it has made for other companies. Oh i know because maybe the sites that don't include al-arab's name is because it wasn't going into production and it wasen't al-arabs at that time but afterword when it did the put thier stick their name on it all of you saudi's went crazy because arab was making such a hot car. oh and that other question about why was the original name dc and not al-arab while all the other cars that dc made for other companys never had a dc name well maybe because it was nver al-arabs in the first place they just manufactered it under thier name.I didn't forget Site4. This one is a kicker maybe you couldnt find any information on the gaia is because you dont know how to search a site. Let me explain to you in baby steps first you go to gallery. Step two you press driveable concepts. step three you search for the gaia in the pictures along with all the other cars.=Mandeep 619 (talk) 00:25, 7 January 2008 (UTC)=
- By all accounts (above sources included), DC Design is primarily a constructor of prototype vehicles and does very little (if any) designing themselves. The Aston was certainly entirely designed in the UK - DC received a CAD package and built the show car to those plans. I haven't seen any conclusive independent reliable sources to say who exactly designed the Al-Araba 1. The current version of this page is probably a good compromise until reliable sources are found. - ^Comment on this Mandeep 619 (talk) 23:30, 6 January 2008 (UTC)In my personal opinion I think your consumed with so much self-pride and patriotism that you can't admit that you are wrong. And second the aston martin, if the aston martin was just a "kit" . I guess ford,chevy,reva,merceds-benz,toyota,HAL and a few other have also been sending kits. And why the hell would design something then break it up send it overseas to have someone else take credit for your work and give them money. I dont know if thats how they do it in Saudi Arabia or where ever your from but that just sounds plain stupid.Mandeep 619 (talk) 23:29, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- You appear to be confusing RSS with WP:RS - ie Wikipedia's policy on RELIABLE SOURCES. Reliable sources are not forums or blogs and they are also not the website of the company concerned. I could publish a website claiming I designed the Ferrari Daytona but it would not give anyone the right to go changing the information on the Pininfarina entry in Wikipedia. As for the Aston, you appear to still be confusing the act of designing something with the act of constructing it. Aston sent DC CAD data of a 100% finished design and DC built the prototype according to these plans. Not a single mm of the Vantage's body was designed by DC Design and I don't believe that even they themselves claim that it was. As for your accusation that somehow my nationality is skewing my observation of the facts in favour of Saudi Arabia against India, well I'm Israeli. Go figure. I'm just reading the sources, assessing them according to WP:RS and attempting to ensure that the information provided on this page is accurate and encyclopedic. Dino246 (talk) 10:27, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
OK, we seem to be getting somewhere now. I'm satisfied that the car is originally a DC Design and have created the page DC Gaia that redirects here. Some of the other details still seem a little sketchy though. Has it been produced beyond the prototype stage? Built where and by whom? Sold where and at what price? The confusion over engines could well be explained if a few vehicles have been produced each to a different customer spec but again, I found no source to back up this theory. related to crossfire
[edit]Is it really, the page says its related to Mitsubishi Lancer --— Typ932T | C 22:34, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- As the Crossfire is essentially just a rebodied old Mercedes SLK this claim becomes even more odd and just adds further confusion to what is already a badly written and badly sourced article. My own research has not borne fruit as all articles on this car seem to be based around information provided by either Al Araba or DC Design, each of which is clearly trying to take the credit for the car. Can anyone (not related to either company..) shed some light? Dino246 (talk) 22:42, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- According to this link → , I related Al-Araba1 to Crossfire . A M M A R 10:32, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Aha. It says it looks like the Crossfire. The car itself has nothing to do with any Chrysler. I'm removing the reference from the infobox. Dino246 (talk) 10:38, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

- Ok Boss , i thought relationship could be by shape also . sorry A M M A R 10:46, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Design and engine
[edit]I think the main designer is Dilip Chhabria as most website tells this and the car is mostly referread as DC Gaia, also whats the real engine in this car I found 3 possibilities 1.5L straight-4, 3.0L V6 or in the article 3.5L V6. --— Typ932T | C 12:55, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- The appearance of Saudi websites is very limited on internet and mostly in arabic language , maybe thats the reason . but in the main website of Al Araba group (included on external links) shows some gallery and stuff. anyways, The engine , according to all websources i've found is the same that used in Mitsubishi Lancer EVO , expanding cillenders to 3.5 from the original 3.0 . A M M A R 13:17, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Lancer evo uses 2.0 L straight.4 engine--— Typ932T | C 13:28, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- They changed it from 2.0 to 1.5 ??? this is unlogical actully . whats the advantage from this ? A M M A R 13:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- No they dont change it the latest is 2.0, dont know what engine that 1.5 is, maybe some other lancer engine--— Typ932T | C 14:51, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
