Why Annapolis Mall and not Westfield Annapolis?

[edit]

The reason this article is at the mall's common name and not at its official name is due to Wikipeidia's use common names policy, just thought I'd clear that up.-Jeff (talk) 04:17, 20 August 2006 (UTC) (comment updated)-Jeff (talk) 22:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Largest Mall in Maryland?

[edit]

Removed ", making the mall the largest in Maryland (surpassing Arundel Mills and Towson Town Center)" because even the Wikipedia page on Westfield Wheaton agrees, it's larger by the metric chosen, square feet of retail space. dk4 (talk) 13:00, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

For those that don't know, Westfield Group is a shopping mall company. Whenever they purchase a mall, they rename it from "X Mall" to "Westfield X" (e.g. Annapolis Mall -> Westfield Annapolis). That particular page has gone back and forth a few times, but Google News shows hits for "Westfield Annapolis". I've done similar searches for other Westfield malls, and every time, "Westfield X" outweighs "X Mall" (except in sources that predate the Westfield group buying it). The person who claimed WP:COMMONNAME on "Annapolis Mall" seems to be in the wrong.

tl;dr: "Westfield X" seems to be the WP:COMMONNAME here, and I would like to establish a consensus on that. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 21:05, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

COI tag

[edit]

This article has been subject to paid editing - please see Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#User:MallExpert. I have put a COI tag on it. The article needs to be reviewed for compliance with WP:NPOV and valid sourcing per the tag. Once the article is reviewed by independent editors, the tag can be removed - please make a note here if you remove the tag. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 22:33, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A recent edit by the paid editor was promptly undone. The only prior edit by the editor was addition of an address field to the Infobox. Tag removed. —ADavidB 11:47, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
added several more. Generally when you get an employee of a company editing an article (with a shared account passed between people) there is more. Jytdog (talk) 13:51, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It is cleaned enough. Jytdog (talk) 13:52, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested Changes from Westfield -- COI

[edit]

Hello. My name is Erik Even, and I am a Web Producer for Westfield Corporation. We're concerned that many of the Wikipedia pages for Westfield centers have incorrect or outdated information, and even content that is not NPOV.

I have read the rules for Conflict of Interest, and I will not be attempting to make any page edits. I will simply be going into talk pages, and suggesting edits, which the community may then either act on or not. I genuinely appreciate any help you can give.

Our suggested text is below, which is meant to be the first paragraph.

Again, thank you for your help.

Suggested text:

Westfield Annapolis is a shopping mall, owned by the Westfield Corporation, located near the junction of U.S. Route 50 and Interstate 97 in Parole, near Annapolis, Maryland. Its anchor stores are Macy’s, Nordstrom, JCPenney, and Sears. It features an 11-screen movie theater.

Seems neutrally worded enough—edit approved. Altamel (talk) 02:17, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
