IPA Pronounciation?

[edit]

Could someone who is adept at IPA notation supply the correct pronounciation? As any Baltimorean knows, it's AY-rab. Lindmere 20:18, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology

[edit]

Surely it is more than a coincidence that the word 'araba' is Turkish for a car or, originally, a cart. "An araba (from Arabic: عربة, araba or Turkish: araba [1]) (also arba or aroba) is a carriage (such as a cabriolet or coach), wagon or cart drawn by horses or oxen, used in Turkey and neighboring Middle Eastern countries. It is usually heavy and without springs, and often covered." Araba Wikipedia entry Peynirli (talk) 19:44, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It could also have Persian route as Arabeh "ارابه" is cart in Persian. https://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%A8%D9%87 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.251.125.39 (talk) 22:30, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
