map based cloning
[edit]Map based cloning of genes responsible for interesting traits requires local marker saturation around the target gene. This target marker saturation is usually achieved with bulked segregant analysis (Michelmore et al. 1991. PNAS USA 88:9828). --Dan|(talk) 15:00, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

History of cloning doesn't belong here
[edit]The section 'history of cloning' is a history of all types of cloning in general, and does not belong in the Molecular Cloning article, but rather in the Cloning article. It is also cited incorrectly. Greeney (talk) 05:31, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Definitions needed . . .
[edit]Wiktionary needs definitions for holoclone, meroclone and paraclone - can you help? Jeff Knaggs (talk) 15:44, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Rename
[edit]Wouldn't this article be more descriptively titled as "gene cloning"? That is the term I am familiar with and seems more evocative. 85.40.209.178 (talk) 23:06, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Gateway Technology
[edit]A sentence about (and a link to) Gateway Technology should probably be added somewhere in this article. Biolprof (talk) 22:11, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Hey. I read this page, and I think it needs attention. In general the explanation for molecular cloning was somewhat vague, and it was difficult to follow in general. I think this page should also have a picture to better explain. A picture of the steps will go a very long way with this article. |
