Do you ap the whole show man? it's such good quality, the one i have is less than average avi with hazy reception.ZlatkoT 13:36, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

tiyak na maghihit to

Let's try to polish this wiki to the same level as American Idol 5. --SCSI Commando 07:58, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Yep. --Howard the Duck | talk, 02:14, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Cool, just updated some facts, Im in the US so I cant really get much info, but my entire family tree is Filipino, and my cousin just got accepted into round 2 so, I'll help what I can. Julz 04:06, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Since it is uncertain if there would be a second season, all of first details would be at this article. --Howard the Duck | talk, 14:44, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Notable auditioners

Can we list those who didn't make it in the auditions, like the one named Justice, number 00001? The American Idol articles list their "bad auditions," too. - 上村七美 | talk 12:35, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Sure. --Howard the Duck 10:32, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Can anyone list the top 24?

Can anyone list the top 24? I'm not in the Philipines, but I know that my cousin Mickey got in. Julz

The show aired its first episode last week. If the top 24 will be announced on the next episode, they'll be listed, right after the announcement. --Howard the Duck 05:33, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Although the Top 24 has already been chosen, the viewers won't get to see them until early September since episodes on Visayas and Mindanao Auditions as well as the Theater Eliminations are yet to be shown. -- Starczamora
Thanks. Although I really did know the policy here. Are we allowed to preemempt the announcement? After all, since it is not yet being published/aired, it will constitute as original research. --Howard the Duck 22:43, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Same as in taped wrestling events; you're not allowed to reveal a result of a taped program until that taped program has been aired. Also publishing the Top 24 now would spoil everything and defeat the suspenseful purpose generated in the show. Although Mr. Nestor Torre did have an insider scoop, he only said that there the 169 were trimmed down to just 60 and stopped short of revealing the names (because he didn't really name any aspirants' names). BTW, that article is only published in the Inquirer and does not have an online version (and he is a very vocal critic against the birit syndrome). - 上村七美 | talk 04:29, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Ooooooooooh. Well, FYI my cousin Miguel is in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wizkid357 (talkcontribs)

This is listed at the External links section already. --Howard the Duck 06:14, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Where in Manila...

...did they audition? I wasn't able to watch the pilot. --Howard the Duck 13:00, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

PICC. - 上村七美 | talk 13:09, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
I thought it was held outside Manila, like Quezon City. So the article was accurate, after all. (If it was in QC or some other place in Metro Manila, it shouldn't be "Auditioned in Manila." PICC simplifies everything) --Howard the Duck 13:13, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Wait, I thought PICC is in Pasay City? --Howard the Duck 02:20, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Can Recording Artists Still Audition For The Show?

I heard that some well-known singers like 'SIAM' finalists OJ Mariano and Marinell Santos have made the audition. Is it possible that they get a new recording contract despite their previous success? --202.81.176.224 07:33, 8 August 2006 (UTC)SepayKaiba

I don't know. Maybe ABC 5 can do their research on that. - 上村七美 | talk 08:24, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Like in American Idol (such in the case of Taylor Hicks and Vonzell), artists with prior albums can audition as long as they did not have an album a year before the audition and that they have severed their ties with their management. Starczamora 1:28, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

No contestants articles, please!

Just like what was done at the Pinoy Big Brother housemates, no articles should be created. Any new articles created will be redirected here. Probably the final 2 contestants will have one. --Howard the Duck 01:59, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Theater Round Updates

Please update this section ASAP.

Philippine Idol EXTRA

Can anyone add info including notable contestants who appear on Philippine Idol EXTRA shown every Mondays to Fridays, 8:00-8:15 PM.

Actually, I think that Philippine Idol: Extra warrants its own article. --Howard the Duck 06:48, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Is it okay if I post a little info about Philippine Idol Exclusive, and then we'll make an entire article about it later? Starczamora 15:41, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
I think it's OK. --Howard the Duck 15:48, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

The male voice talent is Michael Night, a DJ for Dream 106 FM. --Howard the Duck 14:43, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Pictures for theater round and semifinals

Can anyone add more pictures specially for the theater round and semifinals content of the PI wiki page.

I'm planning to watch this. Lets see if taking pics at the venue will be allowed. Of course, we can always rely on screencaps. --Howard the Duck 10:38, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm worried about the limited number of screencaps allowed. I was planning to post SCs of Jhonalene, Yova, and Cjarah for each regional auditions section, but was afraid that it would be deleted. Starczamora 16:06, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Don't worry unless you properly source and tag it, it won't be deleted. --Howard the Duck 16:22, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Can anyone fix the pictures in this area beacuse some of them overlap or leave gaps. The Green Archer 09:22, 2 September 2006 (UTC)The Green Archer
They'll be fine once the sections are expanded. --Howard the Duck 09:29, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Heads Up

Jayblueidol is a new user who is blanking pages concerning Phil Idol. Just wanted to give you the heads up. I reverted his edits. Julz

Lists of contestants

The lists are getting absurdly long. We'd have to cut the lists (especially in the Auditions section). Those who passed into the semis can be removed from the auditions sections. --Howard the Duck 04:41, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

I've already grouped the contestants under the semi-finals section. Is there anything else we can do? After all, in the American Idol and Canadian Idol pages, they split the top 24 from the other auditioners. - 上村七美 | talk 14:51, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
The Idol series don't have a Wikiproject, so they tend to be disorganized. With that said, it quite hard to see precedents on how to do this. Soon, the article will exceed the 32kb warning, and it would be hard to edit because it'll be long. Splitting off to subpages won't be a good idea either. Are the contestants mentioned only once? Perhaps we can remove the really unnotable audioners and second rounders? --Howard the Duck 15:46, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
As far as I know, each of those who auditioned has been mentioned only once. You can check. - 上村七美 | talk 12:31, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, checked it. Although we'd still have to cut down the names. Or perhaps make a table with rows for name, song (artist), and location of audition to better organize them. --Howard the Duck 14:22, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Is it OK if we remove a part or all of the "failed" candidates, so we can save space? Starczamora 18:45, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
That'd be good Julz the wizkid
Lets select those which are really awful. --Howard the Duck 02:59, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
How about making the section of season 1 as a separate article in itself. The American Idol articles have such pages (such a separate page each for seasons 1 -5). This may be good enough to clean up the clutter. - 上村七美 | talk 10:24, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
A good idea, but if the program maes it to season 2 then we'll separate them. (The AI article was segregated only this year). --Howard the Duck 13:59, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Based on my latest edits, the 30kb level was reached for this article. How now, brown cow? - 上村七美 | talk 16:00, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
I think we should wait until the season 2 starts then we should segregate it. What if there would be no season 2, we'd just have identical articles (and Wikipedia has lots of loooong pages, anyway.) --Howard the Duck 07:14, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Practice table

This is a practice table. Everybody is encourage to tweak this to make it better so we can add it at the article. --Howard the Duck 15:43, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

First Results Show Controversy

Can this be added in the Controversies section of the wiki page?

"Upon the announcement of the top 4 male finalists, many viewers of the show had negative reactions regarding its format. Some were shocked, some disappointed, and others were left complaining. Apparently, two of the contestants that were favored by the judges based on their performances failed to make the cut. Instead, two others who had rather bad reviews from the jurors took the spot. Thus, many critics concluded that Philippine Idol is just another "Popularity Contest" rather than a singing competition. One of the judges, Ryan Cayabyab, mentioned that people should not be "kampante" or confident regarding any of the contestants status on the show. Instead, he advised them to keep on voting for their favorites because of the show's factors such as its uncertainty."

The Green Archer 12:41, 8 September 2006 (UTC)The Green Archer

Finally somebody shares the same sentiments as I do. I would consider it a controversy because some who got in (Miguel and Jan), do not deserve to take a spot in the final four. The only reason they got in is because of their popularity such as that from Miguel being from La Salle who got most of the campus voters' nod while Jan being from Uniliver. I feel very sorry for those who performed exceptional (Gian, Ramirr, Robert) but did not make it. Even the three judges favored them, but the voters decided to go with the underdogs disregarding the judges advices as if they never existed in the first place. 202.81.173.154 14:06, 8 September 2006 (UTC) WakkaBalls
Count me in. I wanted Ramirr to make it, but to my surprise, he didn't make it. Oh well, there is still the wild card round. - 上村七美 | talk 15:05, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I've heard that the PI staff are thinking about tweaking some rules ont he wild card round to make favorable (and exciting). but come to think of it, isn't this the only Idol show where much debate is being ensued just at the Top 24 level? Starczamora 18:08, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I'm sure Nestor U. Torre of the Inquirer will agree. He said that top talent has been compromised by the "subjective" text votes. This is why he is against text-voting as the primary gauge in any singing competition. - 上村七美 | talk 03:11, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
We should copy and paste them verbatim but we should reword this. --Howard the Duck 05:13, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Final 12 Picture

Can anyone registered here upload this file for the final 12 section though permission from noemidado@gmail.com is needed. -Brent

http://photos.the-protagonist.net/top-12-finalists/IMG_2795

Did you take the pic? If you did so, you can register and tag it with {{GFDL}}. If you didn't, well its tough to license it. --Howard the Duck 14:10, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
I made one myself using the web pics. Is it okay? Starczamora 22:13, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
Um.. I think a collage of fair use pics isn't fair use. However, I think we can have screencaps or something. --Howard the Duck 08:24, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
The top 12 collage pic in the article does not contain proper copyright info. Administrators say they may delete it within several days unless it is fixed properly. - Dean

Are these controversies...

I saw these in the article, which I labeled with "citation needed" since the anon did not cite the source for these.

Can these be confounded or can we just hide them in comment tags for now? - 上村七美 | talk 15:31, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, it was my fault not logging-in before adding that info. I'll edit that as soon as I find the citations. Starczamora 15:47, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
