Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose that Aer Arann be merged into Stobart Air. Aer Arann did not cease to exist, it is just rebranding (a process that is still not complete). Reason is that the two are exactly the same company, just renamed, i.e. all company history (contained in the Aer Arann article) is still relevant; even ownership hasn't changed, as Stobart Group have owned 45% of Aer Arann since 2010. In similar cases - e.g. the renaming of EADS to Airbus Group, USAir to US Airways, Deutsche BA to DBA (airline), American Eagle Airlines to Envoy Air, etc., the Wikipedia approach is the same one that I suggest for Aer Arann/Stobart Air, i.e. redirect from old name to new name. The full merge discussion can be found on the talk:Aer Arann page. --afromme (talk) 15:58, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
