Jutta Hering-Winckler
- ... that Jutta Hering-Winckler, a lawyer from Minden whose grandfather saw the world premiere of Wagner's Ring cycle in Bayreuth, "made the impossible possible": Der Ring in Minden? Source: mayor's speech for the quote, two refs for the grandfather, one saying he made the trip walking, but it's a bit too soft a ref to use it

- Article seems expanded, not created, but well over 5x so that's good. Sources for hook present, hook is in article, I'm saying AGF on the German though I can understand "Unmögliche möglich gemacht" well enough :) I will say I find the hook maybe a bit too clickbait-y or tabloid-y at the end, would be possible to change the ending to not have a "surprise reveal"? Also waiting on QPQ. Kingsif (talk) 01:46, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- How would you suggest to change the ending? To - all sourced in RS - The Minden Miracle, The Wagner Miracle in Minden. I kept it as factual as can be, and we had several DYK on the topic, including the event itself. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:57, 22 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Gerda Arendt: Sorry for the wait - I thought I had watched the page. It does read like a not too interesting fact until the 'reveal'. It's alright if you can't think of anything else, I guess. Kingsif (talk) 20:58, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- You mean you don't find it interesting that someone saw the first Bayreuth festival? ... and passed the interest to his granddaughter? - Help with wording welcome.
- I reviewed Template:Did you know nominations/Morgenblatt für gebildete Stände. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:38, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know what the Bayreuth festival is, so no (was it you reviewing one of my DYKs where an alt hook mentioned a film showing at SXSW and you said you didn't know what that was... yeah, that feeling. To me, SXSW is massive, but not to everyone, same for this festival).
- The hook-y part is the connection between seeing Der Ring at its premiere and then bringing it to someplace "impossible" - and remember this is about Jutta, not her grandfather. But equally, adding she was a lawyer from Minden is just extra info confusing it. As said, the sentence order is probably fine, but I find it reads more like a tabloid headline (minus all caps and four '!!!!'s) than a hook. Thanks for the QPQ - if you like the phrasing, this can be good to go. Kingsif (talk) 22:51, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- I have no better ideas past midnight ;) - We could just say she was the woman behind Der Ring in Minden which was mentioned in several DYK already, but I'd like to explain - for those who followed - how that was initiated, long tradition, the first Bayreuth Festival was in 1876, even the centenary Jahrhundertring was long ago. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:13, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
