Whether the airport is located in either Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland is beside the point. Irish is historically the native language of the island in its entirety, not solely of the Republic. It may not be known to you personally by an Irish name, but it is known to Irish speakers (of which there are some 17,000 in Belfast alone) as Aerfort Chathair Bhéal Feirste. Every airport in Ireland (Belfast City included) operates through the medium of Standard English, including all internal and external communications. This does not affect this existence of the Irish language versions of their names. The airport is on an island called Ireland, and thus the current airport has no more or less a connection with the Irish language than does any other airport on this island. Nowhere in Northern Ireland has an officially recgonised Irish language versions of their names, that does not mean that the Irish language versions of Belfast (Béal Feirste), Bangor (Beannchar) or Carrickfergus (Carraig Fhearghuis) should be removed from their respective Wikipedia articles. I have already said this on the article’s talk page – please read all the comments in relation to this subject. It may not be of any practical use to someone trying to locate the airport whilst driving around Belfast, but that is not why the Irish language version was added in the first place. (I was not the first to add it.) You, as one sole individual, are not in a position to say why anyone would be reading an article on the airport – that would depend upon the individual. YOU may not desire that information, but please do not stop others from accessing it. It may be of interest to those 17,000 afore mentioned persons, for example. Please taje the time to read the thread on the discussion page in full. Many thanks. D.de.loinsigh (talk) 02:06, 05 May 2008
