- Tentre Unfortunately as CBNG is not human it is not able to check links. If it's a false positive then follow the instructions at the top of the page to report it.--5 albert square (talk) 13:12, 30 September 2018 (UTC)
Mistake in instructions?
In User:ClueBot III/Documentation, shouldn't the last line for parameter archiveprefix say |archiveprefix={{subst:FULLPAGENAME}}/Archive
(without an s on the end), rather than |archiveprefix={{subst:FULLPAGENAME}}/Archives

Can't report a false positive
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=DuckTales_(2017_TV_series)&diff=861644669&oldid=861644662
Clearly not vandalism. When I enter 3490225 in https://tools.wmflabs.org/cluebotng/?page=Main it just says "Reason: ANN scored at 0.91303" and "Reverted: No". This is actually false because BaldiBasicsFan did undo ClueBot's edit.
There is no "YES, I WANT TO BLOODY REPORT THIS" button. It just shows me the information and that's it. Alexis Jazz (talk) 00:11, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
- Cobi and Rich Smith, want to take a look at this? Seems like something went wrong between the reporting interface and the bot actually reverting the edit. Interface seems to have thought the bot didn't revert the edit when it apparently did. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 02:22, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- It's likely that the bot submitted the revert and got an error from Wikipedia even though the revert went through. Because it got an error, it gave up on that edit and marked the edit as not reverted. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 02:59, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Cobi: I misunderstood a part, "reverted" doesn't mean whether or not ClueBot has been reverted but if ClueBot reverted the edit. But, if ClueBot doesn't believe it succeeded to revert the edit, why did it tell the editor it did? Alexis Jazz (talk) 17:12, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- The bot doesn't set reverted to true until it has also warned the user. This is arguably a bug that I will look into, but given that, it likely got an error posting that warning, so never set the reverted field to true. I'll see about fixing the order of those two things so that that shouldn't happen again. Here are the relevant lines of code. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 18:39, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Cobi: thanks. Perhaps also consider not disabling the report function for edits that for whatever reason weren't reverted. ClueBot detected them as vandalism/spam, so it should be possible to report a false positive, even if ClueBot (believes it) was unable to revert it. Alexis Jazz (talk) 19:49, 7 October 2018 (UTC)

Reporting false positives on others' accounts
{{atop}} Are users allowed to report false positives (FP/FPs) if they are not the target of the reversion? I have been trying to report two FPs on someone else's account and I am not sure that I have succeeded. I get to the bit where I'm invited to put in the ClueBot number, I do so, it shows me the relevant edit but then there is no Submit or Continue button, so I am not sure that it has worked. If I look at the list of reported FPs I don't find my two concerns in it. I'm sorry if I am being stupid or have missed an FAQ but I can't see what I should do next. All advice gratefully received. Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 08:47, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
- Anyone can report false positives. When you enter the revert ID, you'll be taken to a page that shows the change that ClueBot NG reverted, along with some information about the edit. If you scroll down to the bottom, you should see a button that says "Report false positive". Click that button. If you see comments, instead, it has already been reported. If instead you see "Reverted: No," then that means that ClueBot NG does not believe that it actually reverted the edit, so there is nothing to report. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 09:10, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for the prompt and very helpful reply. What is happening is exactly as you describe, taking the branch where after I've submitted the number, when it shows me the edit it says "Reverted: No" so I have no report button. In both the cases that I am looking, though, ClueBot did revert the edit – unless I am having some failure of understanding here (which would not be the first time!) so I am a bit stuck. I have manually reverted ClueBot in both cases but I promise you that it was saying "No" when its edit was the most current too. I can give you the ClueBot refs if it helps you to explain it to me but I was trying to keep it a general question on principles of use, not to look like I am trying to circumvent your request to editors to
Report ClueBot NG false positives on the false positives page, not here
. I do have a horrible feeling that I am being stupid and missing the point by a mile (1.6 km) and as I say it wouldn't exactly be the first time I've been very very stupid here – but if you could help ease my incomprehension-pain then would be a mitzvah (secondary meaning), thanks! - Seems related to a bug reported a couple of weeks ago here: User talk:ClueBot Commons/Archives/2018/October#Can't report a false positive. I'll see about prioritizing this fix. I thought this was a one-time occurrence, but apparently not. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 18:13, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
- That's great, thank you very much Cobi for the clarification. I'll mark this for archiving per the request. Best wishes, DBaK (talk) 21:51, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

Reporting False Positive on Shane Richie
Hey Cobi,
I seem to remember someone posting recently about the bot hitting an error when reverting edits. Therefore false positives cannot be reported?
Just to let you know, I've come across this again, here the bot has reverted an edit on the Shane Richie article as vandalism, however it isn't vandalism it's just a poorly referenced edit. I reverted the bot and went to report the false positive but when I enter the revert ID (3511448), the IP edit appears on the false positive page so of course I cannot report it the edit? I tried reporting from both the page edit history and from the message left on the IPs talk page just in case one worked and the other didn't for some reason but no difference.
Just mentioning it here in case it's related :)--5 albert square (talk) 21:33, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

Reporting two false positive reverts does not work
I would like to report these false positive reverts:
- 3524345 (Special:Diff/866010676)
- 3524499 (Special:Diff/866040220)
Neither of these is vandalism. Unfortunately, using the links supplied by ClueBot on User talk:Emanuel Fresh, or manually entering the revert-IDs in the report form, does not work. The website says "Reverted: No" and does not allow submitting the form, even if I log into my account at the report interface. As you can see in the diffs above, ClueBot has reverted the edits. ClueBot has also warned the user. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:41, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
- Yup, something similar got reported a week or two back. From what I understand, Cobi is trying to prioritise a fix for it.--5 albert square (talk) 00:02, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
