Your edits to Positronic brain
[edit]I have reverted your edits because they didn't follow the Wikipedia:Citing sources guidelines. The most important mistake was citing a copy of the article http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/Positronic_brain as a source. Also just adding a source as text to the References section is frowned upon. Last but not least, while Asmiov is obviously a good source for most of the article, it isn't for the Appearances in science fiction section. Please don't take these edits as an attack on you, thank you for trying to improve Wikipedia. Lars T. (talk) 17:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:Indyprov logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Indyprov logo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:38, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]... for your copyedit in the article Mother (opera). It was one of my first attempts to create article here, and my skills were rather poor in that time (I'm not native English speaker). I've improved my English since that time, I hope, but it still isn't perfect. Now I have few friends here, who help me to polish my awkward prose. I always appreciate this kind of help, and also the people, who really read articles. Thanks again, have a nice day. --Vejvančický (talk) 07:21, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 18:22, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
I hope you dont mind me reverting your edit to Albany, New York which added info and a wikilink to the Albany, NY police department new article. I'd like to encourage you to join the wikiproject Capital District and recommend some interesting articles that might be more appropriate a place to add the info you had (my objection was not to you adding the info, it was to the location, as the section on Govt and politics wasnt quite right, there's already info in there that doesnt belong, its a work in progress). History of Albany, New York already has info on the police force being formed and all it would need is to have the wikilink inserted, Neighborhoods of Albany, New York could use a wikilink to your article in the "see also" sectioher n are two suggestions. The Capital District wikiproject page is a good place to go even if you dont want to join it, if you are at all interested in editing more Albany area articles (there's a whole list of articles there that need attention), and it will show you how to label your CD related articles with the wikiproject template and how to add it to the new article list so others interested in your work can help out. If you would like further suggestions and help on the article I would be more than happy to help wikify, add citations, copy-edit, or whatever else you would like me to do. One issue I'd like to address first though is the name, I would recommend moving it to Albany Police Department (New York) as it would more accurately reflect the name of the department and the parentheses disambiguating where it is, though user:Doncram has more experience in disamb pages than I do and I recommend you asking for his opinion on the page name.Camelbinky (talk) 04:28, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
File:Ralph Lyford and Ella Gillis.gif listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Ralph Lyford and Ella Gillis.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Hi Ejl- Thanks for reminding me to finish up what I had started. I have now added Category:Manufacturing companies based in Indiana to the article. My goal was/is to sort out the articles in Category:Manufacturing companies of the United States, since it's a top-level category, and I had not yet gotten around to re-categorizing the Delta Faucet article. I'm still working on cleaning it all up! Have a good weekend! --Funandtrvl (talk) 20:32, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:SonyMagicLink.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:SonyMagicLink.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 02:07, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Permission has been confirmed for this image, but for future reference you should not add any OTRS template to an image besides {{OTRS pending}} - any other OTRS template should only be added by an OTRS volunteer once permission has been verified and logged. Children's Museum update
[edit]It's time again to share the latest news on the Children's Museum of Indianapolis Wikipedia project! In the last few months we have been busy with our third image donation, which was made up of 150 images that were professionally photographed specifically for this upload. We are asking for volunteers to categorize these images and distribute them into Wikipedia articles. Your help is appreciated! Check them out here.
We have also donated our first video and a second GLAM-Wiki Infographic to Commons. In September we were thrilled to welcome Jimmy Wales to the museum. Following our successful Edit-a-Thon and Translate-a-Thon in August, translations have continued with the help of the established QRpedia community, (particularly Russian translations thanks to Lvova!) We have begun to analyze our implementation of QRpedia codes and completed an extensive case study. In November we presented at the Museum Computer Network conference about how museums can effectively collaborate with Wikipedia. You can see more details on the Prezi.
In more general news, in addition to serving as the Children's Museum's Wikipedian-in-Residence, it was recently announced that I will be taking on the role of US Cultural Partnerships Coordinator for the Wikimedia Foundation. In this role I will be working to streamline the process of connecting interested US GLAMs with the Wikipedia community. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to let me know. Be sure to sign up for This Month in GLAM to keep up with the latest GLAM-Wiki news from around the world (subscribe).
We have a listing of High Need and Moderate Need requests on the Ways to Help section on the project page. I encourage you to lend a hand if you're able. While the Children's Museum partnership continues to truck along, we still are in desperate need of volunteers to help disperse our images and update and maintain content. Thank you for your time and help. Happy holidays! LoriLee (talk) 16:45, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Regarding Erasmus Mundus!
[edit]Hello,
I would like to comment on the suggestion of the merger of Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus.
Both have the common starting names but they are quite different programs.
Erasmus Program is only for the European Students wanting to study for 6 to 9 months as an exchange to other univ. in some other country. (Mainly the Bachelor students in Europe opt for this)
Erasmus Mundus on the other hand is a program for both non European and european country students. The European consortium provides a higher scholarship to the Non-European Students in general for this program.. Also, this program has both masters and Phd's and the students need to study in more than 2 different univ. europe.

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit]Hello, I saw that you tagged SIPOC with {{Expert-subject}}. Per the template documentation, "When adding this template to an article, state the specific issue that you believe a subject-matter expert needs to address – not "the whole page in general". This may be done using the |reason=
parameter and/or on the article's talk page." What in particular is your concern with the SIPOC article? Thanks. -- DanielPenfield (talk) 16:05, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

: I'm not sure there's any theory behind a SIPOC. Perhaps you mean that you want more context? -- DanielPenfield (talk) 20:18, 16 January 2016 (UTC)- Fair point DanielPenfield . I have seen references such as http://www.sixsigmaonline.org/six-sigma-training-certification-information/six-sigma-sipoc-why-it-is-essential-for-the-program/ to a theory of SIPOC without elaboration. It would be helpful to have some expert input here re: theoretical considerations for use of this tool. Or if theory is too academic for this, maybe another term should be used. ejly (talk) 02:12, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

National varieties of English
[edit]Hello. In a recent edit to the page Nitrogen narcosis, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.
For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. RexxS (talk) 20:41, 28 April 2018 (UTC)

Added to Wikipedia:Missing Wikipedians

Honestly, I expect you'll make some more edits at some point, but I also don't want you to be completely forgotten if you don't. Feel free to undo my addition if you would prefer not to be on it. I thank you for everything you've done for this project, and may God bless you. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 19:13, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
