I think the following buildings deserve an article:

• Howden House (part of Sheffield Town Hall)
• Sheffield Central Fire Station (including the new one on Carver St - due to be demolished to make way for the new John Lewis)
• Communication House (British Telecom) - photos not yet uploaded.
• Grosvenor Hotel, Sheffield (to be demolished) - photos not yet uploaded.

I think that all Grade I and Grade II* listed buildings should have articles (except in cases like Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet where there is a group of listed buildings that are better covered by a single article). I think that Grade II listed buildings should be treated on a case-by-case basis, as there are a number of these that are things like telephone boxes or milestones. Notable listed buildings currently missing articles include:

  • Church of St. Mary, Ecclesfield (Grade I)
  • Endcliffe Hall (Grade II*)
  • Heritage House, Infirmary Road (originally part of the Royal Infirmary; Grade II*)
  • Leah's Yard, Cambridge Street (Grade II*)
  • Sanderson Kayser's Darnall Works (Grade II*)
  • The Mount, Glossop Road (Grade II*)
  • Mount Pleasant Community Centre (Grade II*)
  • Old Bank House, Hartshead (Grade II*)
  • Sharrow Mills (Grade II*)
  • Sheffield United Gas Light Company Offices (Grade II*)
  • Former Adelphi Cinema (Grade II)

There are quite a few of new buildings proposed or under construction that might be worthy of article at some stage:

• • City Lofts Tower - Apparently aproved--construction starting soon? If/when completed will be Sheffield's tallest (101 m)

The New Retail Quarter (NRQ) is the biggest building project in the pipeline. It will occupy the area around John Lewis, which is moving to where the fire station is. It is also why Grosvenor Hotel is being demolished. josh (talk) 19:04, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Maybe the NRQ should have its own article. It would be good if someone could get some photos of the buildings that will be demolished (this area). In particular I notice that some listed buildings may be demolished (e.g. this one) and Leah's yard is to be extensively renovated.
