Thanks for the work on Admiral Bowman's page - though we'll have to talk about the difference between Navy ranks and the other services sometime  :) DukeEgr93 02:09, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pratt article move

[edit]

Fair enough. However, I still think the official name is just "Pratt School of Engineering." The first link you provided, about Pratt's $35 million gift, states that the school "will be named in his honor." Nowhere does it say this will include his entire name, and it is certainly plausible that the school will just include his last name. The second link you provided clearly states "Duke University School of Engineering named the Edmund T. Pratt Jr. School," which seems to make it obvious that it includes the whole name. However, I find it odd that the first sentence of the page says, "The Pratt School of Engineering traces its history back to 1851," instead of the whole name, and the page itself is titled "Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University." If anything, I would suspect that might be the official name. In the "About Pratt" section it says, "Duke’s Pratt School of engineering" and all the pages are copyrighted "Pratt School of Engineering." So, right now, I have only seen one sentence that uses the full name, and that doesn't seem as reliable since its in a timeline that someone could have easily goofed up. I guess I'm not certain, but I just thought the evidence was solid enough that the official name just included his last name. I suppose could ask a Dean or DukeEgr93 to be certain. -Bluedog423 04:21, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, I can't read. Didn't catch that sentence in the first one. Sorry. -Bluedog423

I have nominated Degree programs at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Degree programs at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Name Calling

[edit]

Please reframe from name calling. I don't know you and you can't assume that you know everything. So please don't use the page as a way off making fun of someone else. Edit as you like just don't try and humiliate someone. I never said I own any page at this sight. Thank you and have a wonderfull day.

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
