[edit]Hanja
[edit]- Orthodox form of 艶
Usage notes
[edit]This form "艷" is the orthodox form according to the "Table of hanja for personal names" and the National Institute of Korean Language, and the alternative form "艶" is recognized as an official variant form 속자 (俗字, sokja) by the "Table of hanja for personal names." However, numerous other Hanja authorities discourage and bar the use of this form and "艶" is far more common in actual usage.
Some Korean dictionaries only include "艶" when glossing words containing this Hanja.
