From Malay mohor, from Persian مهر (mohr), from Middle Persian, 𐫖𐫇𐫍𐫡 (mwhr /⁠muhr⁠/, seal), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *mitra (covenant, treaty, agreement, promise). Doublet of mahar and mitra.
