	1.	Lie on your stomach and lift your thumbs up. Arms at a 90° angle. 10 repetitions.
	2.	Pull your elbows back, hands at your temples. Shoulders at a 90° angle. 15 repetitions.
	3.	Stand in a “T” shape and rotate your arms forward and backward in isolation. Watch the video to see the full range of shoulder blade movement. 20 repetitions.
	4.	Keep your back straight, pull your thumbs back, elbows close to your body without moving them. 10 repetitions.

Repeat the entire set 2 times.

Often when we see forward shoulders the instinctive response is to do back strengthening exercises or “sit up straight” and “pull your shoulders back.”

Unfortunately, the mechanics of forward shoulders are a bit more complicated.

The postural restoration institute appreciates that shoulders live on rib cages. The ribcage gets pushed up in the front so far that one has to push their shoulders forward to counterbalance, I.e. not fall over backwards.

If we address ribcage posture and simultaneously release muscles that pull the shoulders forward and down, we see much better results. 👍
