What do we need to bring?

We want to make sure that your experience at the camp is enjoyable and comfortable. Here's a list of items you should bring along:

Unrefrigerated Lunch:

  • Please pack a lunch that does not require refrigeration. We recommend easy-to-eat, nutritious options that will keep your energy up throughout the day.

Water Bottle:

  • Hydration is key! Bring a reusable water bottle that you can refill throughout the day. We'll have water stations available for you to use.

Rain Gear (If Applicable):

  • Check the weather forecast for the camp days. If rain is expected, it's a good idea to bring along appropriate rain gear, such as a raincoat or umbrella. This will ensure you stay comfortable and dry, no matter the weather.

Forms and Camp Waivers:

  • If you haven't already sent the required forms and waivers electronically to cornerstone@uky.edu, please remember to bring them with you on the first day of camp. These documents are essential for participation and help ensure everyone's safety and well-being during the camp.

By bringing these items, you'll be all set for a fun and engaging time at the Youth Esports Camp. We're looking forward to seeing you and are excited for the fantastic activities we have planned!

Where do I pick-up / drop-off?

Location:

  • Both pick-up and drop-off will take place inside The Cornerstone building, which is conveniently located next to the A Cup of Commonwealth Coffee shop. This location is easily accessible and provides a comfortable space for your children to wait.

Required Items for Participation:

  • Please ensure that your child brings their lunch, water bottle, and completed forms and waivers each day. These items are essential for their participation in the camp. If any of these are missing, it may hinder your child's ability to join in the day's activities.

Drop-off Times:

  • Campers can be dropped off as early as 7:30 AM. This early drop-off time is designed to accommodate your schedule and provide flexibility.

Pick-up Times:

  • You can pick up your children as late as 6:00 PM. We understand the demands of busy schedules, and our extended pick-up time offers convenience for parents.

Activities Outside Camp Hours:

  • Outside of our main camp programming hours, which are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, campers will have the opportunity to engage in free-play in the lounge area. This provides them with a relaxed and enjoyable environment to socialize and unwind before and after the structured camp activities.

Will there be early drop-off or late pick-up?

Yes! We open at 7:30am, so students may be dropped off at that time.

Our Programming ends at 4:30pm, however we will have late pick-up for campers up until 6pm.

Please pickup your children before 6pm. Failure to comply with our pickup policy may result in restriction from future camp offerings.

Will lunch be provided?

At our Youth Esports Camp, we want to ensure that all campers have enough energy for an active and engaging day. Here's our plan regarding meals and snacks:

  • Lunch: We kindly ask that each camper brings their own lunch. Since lunch is not provided by the camp, this approach allows each child to have a meal that caters to their dietary preferences and needs. Please pack a lunch that does not require refrigeration and is easy to eat.

  • Snack Breaks: To keep our campers fueled and ready for all the activities, we will provide two snack breaks during the day – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. These snack breaks are a great opportunity for campers to recharge and socialize.

We recommend packing a nutritious and filling lunch along with a water bottle to keep your child hydrated throughout the day. Our aim is to keep the energy high and ensure that all campers have the stamina for a day full of learning and fun.

What if my child has medication?

We understand the importance of ensuring that your child's medical needs are met while they are at our camp. Here’s what you need to know and do regarding medication:

Medication Form:

  • When you are filling out the camp registration form, please make sure to complete the medication section. This section is designed to gather essential information about your child's medication needs.

Self-Administration of Medication:

  • It’s important that your child is able to self-administer their medication. Our staff can provide a private room or a quiet space for your child to take their medication comfortably and discreetly.

Limitations on Staff Assistance:

  • Please note that our camp staff are not authorized to assist in the application or administration of medication. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all our campers.

Communication and Safety:

  • If you have any specific concerns or instructions regarding your child’s medication, feel free to communicate those with our camp administration team. You can reach us at cornerstone@uky.edu.

By ensuring these steps are followed, we can create a safe and accommodating environment for your child at our Youth Esports Camp. We are committed to making the camp experience enjoyable and worry-free for both you and your child.
