20 books inspired by Greek mythology and Classic texts – Modern Mrs Darcy Mythology Retellings, Natalie Haynes, A Thousand Ships, The Grimm, 2023 Books, Female Perspective, Cover Design Inspiration, Ya Fiction, Greek Culture

"Men’s deaths are epic, women’s deaths are tragic." While not shying away from the brutality of the ancient narrative, Haynes, a former stand-up comedian, laces her often difficult tale with a dark edge of humor. Nowhere is this more evident than in Penelope's story, which unfolds as a series of gloriously snarky…

Hafsa on Instagram: "Inez and Whit - What the River Knows by @isabelwriter09
.
Inez’’s outfit: it’s mentioned that she wears a galabiyah at one point so I drew her in one, just cinched with a belt!
About the book itself - All I can say is it was a 5 star read for me and I stayed up all night reading it because I could NOT put it down. If you’re a fan of The Mummy and generally want something to keep you hooked until the end - DEFINITELY read this. Although the ending is criminally cliff hanger-y and I will not rest till we get book two!!
