Still some finishing touches to get done (like handles!) but really glad with how this IKEA hack came together. Ikea pieces I used- - 4x Billy bookcases 80cm wide and the extension shelves - 8x Oxberg doors I used the fully enclosed Oxberg doors so the bookshelves would be more akin to cupboards. I have lots of unsightly items to store- like kids crafts, my crafts, random things… having open bookcases wouldn’t have made sense. But I do love there are some open shelves at the top for books📖. I colour drenched the room in Cambridge Green by @benjaminmooreuk . Brit Arnesen on Instagram: "Sorry to make you wait, but yesterday was my birthday - so priorities … 😆🎉 Without further ado though, here’s the second part to how I turned this IKEA Billy Bookcase into the cutest storage cabinet ever. If you try this IKEA hack and make it through the first part, the rest is really simple and straightforward. After sanding, I painted the outside of the cabinet, using leftover paint I had from my daughter’s bedroom makeover. The color I used is Sherwin-Williams Gallery Green. While it dried, I taped around the glass opening of the IKEA Oxberg Door I planned to add to the cabinet and started painting it. I added the legs (I will link them in stories) to the bottom of the cabinet and painted them as well.
