Xian was capital of China during the Tang Dynasty from AD 618 to 907. This is considered a golden era in Chinese history – a time of stability and wealth as China flourished from trade along the Silk Road which finished (or started) in Xian. One of the things to do in Xian for the modern day traveler is to visit the opulent Tang Dynasty Show which aims to take you back to this colorful part of Chinese history.
