Leah Penniman struggled to understand who she was and where she fit in. There was one thing she did know— when she was connected to the land she felt at home.

@blackgirlcreativessd community meetup this past week was more than I could have ever imagined!!! My heart is so full and I am extremely grateful for the connections that are happening within the group!! Building community is something that is so important to me, especially being a Black Women in a city that we’re not really represented and are often not thought of in the creative space!!!! I want us to have the freedom to be ourselves, share our talents and support each other along the way…
