Most often associated with watercolor, this technique is used to create interesting textural effects and create movement.  Use a medium-wet mixture, hold the brush further away from the paper and spatter very gently. To create larger and random splatters, use a larger brush like a round or mop brush that holds a lot of water.   Remember less is often more… make sure that the effect will add to your painting, without overwhelming it or making it look messy. Directions:
1. Tie q-tips around toilet paper roll 
2. Dab in watery paint and press to make wreath
3. Write “J” and “Y”
4. Stamp red circles with q-tip
5. Splatter some gold by hitting the brush with your finger or another brush
