Today’s Tidbit shows you the benefit of working out your sketch on paper before you go to your prepared mixed media background.

silicone modelling paste in moulds for door, vine and swirly bits. texture paste through a brick wall stencil underneath, and cheesecloth & white gesso (primer) over the whole lot. Creating the texture actually took longer than painting it, something which keeps surprising me. Here it is before I added colour - visual might help you to understand how it was done.
