I used to rush to defend myself against false accusations but now I watch to see who believes it, so I know who to cut off first.

Ever since I was child I worried about what people said or thought of me. I couldn’t stand when someone said or believed something about me that wasn’t true. So, guess what?! I’ve lived a life of constantly defending myself, constantly trying to prove myself. I’m talking clean up until about a week ago. I’ve learned (and I’ve always known, just had my own issues that prevented me from acting on what I knew) that sometimes there is absolutely nothing you can say or do to change someone’s…

I WILL not put up with those who think they are better than me, mistreat me, slander or pass gossip about me. Times have changed. I will cut off ties with those who are toxic to my wellbeing and I have the right to my feelings and will defend myself and my family against anyone who hurts us. Don’t like the consequences? Then don’t mistreat people.

This is true, and I desire to be that wise, but we must be careful. Fools have a similar response that argues, “I don’t have to explain myself.” However, they argue this because they actually cannot defend their position. Which are you?
