There are a few variations of the stomach vacuum exercise this is just one of them.  In the seated position, maintain shallow breathing throughout the stomach vacuum exercise. Sit up straight with feet flat on the floor. Exhale slowly and completely, pulling the belly button towards the spine while engaging the deep abdominal muscles. Hold this contraction for a few seconds without holding your breath. Release and repeat for several repetitions. This variation of the stomach vacuum helps strengthen the core muscles and improve posture while seated.
