The spinning jenny is a multi-spindle spinning frame, and was one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the early Industrial Revolution. James Hargreaves was an English weaver, carpenter and inventor, famous for creating the Jenny spinner in 1764. James Hargreaves was born around January 8th, 1721, in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, England, and died in April 22nd, 1778, in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. He was the inventor of the spinning jenny, the first practical application of multiple spinning by a machine. It was a significant factor in the industrialization of the textile industry.
