Issue with GIT in air-gap #16698

Hello,
I am following a previous topic
@johnstcn or @matifali Have you a clue about that ?
git clone http://myGitLab:88/test/project.git
--> works, but need to fill user/psw

What is really strange is that
coder gitssh

usage: ssh [-46AaCfGgKkMNnqsTtVvXxYy] [-B bind_interface]
           [-b bind_address] [-c cipher_spec] [-D [bind_address:]port]
           [-E log_file] [-e escape_char] [-F configfile] [-I pkcs11]

           [-Q query_option] [-R address] [-S ctl_path] [-W host:port]
           [-w local_tun[:remote_tun]] destination [command]

Coder authenticates with  git  using
the public key below. All clones with SSH are authenticated automatically 🪄.

 ssh-ed25519 xxx

Encountered an error running "coder gitssh", see "coder gitssh --help" for more information
error: exit status 255

I think something is wrong around here.

I found the issue, it was in fact related to gitlab and the permissions on the keys. meaning that sshd was failing. Coder was not the issue here.
Now git clone ssh://git@myHost:28/x/x.git works fine.

Hello @Y3NK, you are not supposed to run coder gitssh manually, it is only meant to be called by git.

In your example it's failing because coder gitssh is expecting a host to be passed, but there's no host and since it bases its output on what exit code ssh returned, coder gitssh just assumes you tried to connect and the remote server told you you weren't authenticated.

In your case, it is not working because you are cloning via http in your git command (git clone http://mygitlab:88/test/project.git), but SSH key authentication only works with SSH repo links, so you have to use something like git clone git@mygitlab:test/project.git, provided that your GitLab instance has SSH enabled.

The SSH repo name can be found in the UI of your repo.

I fact, I am wondering if the issue is maybe only due to my port exposure?

Coder and gitlab are running in dockers, since I am not able use ports already used for host, I am using other ones:
88 instead of 80, etc.

Is there a way to specify the port used by Ssh?

git clone git@mygitlab:999:test/project.git

Where 999 is my Ssh port?

EDIT: I gave a try:
Let's say ext 28 is my gitlab 22;

git clone git@host.local:28:test/test.git
Cloning into 'test'...
Bad owner or permissions on /etc/ssh/ssh_config.d/50-redhat.conf

Coder authenticates with  git  using the public key below. All clones with SSH

try using ssh://git@host.local:28/test.git, also, why the :28:test? assuming your user us test, you'll want to do test@host.local is.

Thanks for your anser:
:28:test --> :28 is my exposed port for 22 (since everything running in the same server, but in different docker images).
So 22 is my ssh port of my host, therefore gitlab is running on 28:22, and 88:80 so from coder I need to use host:88 to liaise with gitlab http and host:28 to liaise with gitlab on ssh

I tried to switch from git@host:28 to myUser@host:28, same result...

test is my folder repo, but it's in fact ssh://myUser@myHost.local:28/test/test.git

the key seems to match

I tried to update to Coder v2.20.0 to check if it changed anything, but no :-/
