image widget is extremely helpful for visualizing image stacks. i am thinking of an enhanced version of imagewidget that also includes time series. we can place a vertical line (just a linear selector) on every time series; these vertical lines are synchronized with the frame number currently displayed in image widget. so if you hit "play", image widget will render frames of the image stack and the linear selectors will sweep from left to right. this gives users the ability to track both spatial and temporal information.

i am wondering whether this is worth supporting within fastplotlib?
