How to Use the Stock Value Calculator

Welcome to the Stock Value Calculator! This tool is designed to help you analyze your stock investments by calculating both current and projected values based on your inputs. To effectively use this calculator, follow the step-by-step guide below.

Step 1: Input Current Stock Data

  1. Current Stock Price ($): Enter the current price of a single share of the stock. This value must be a positive number, higher than $.01.
  2. Number of Shares: Enter the total number of shares you own. This should be at least 1 share.

Step 2: Input Dividend Information

  1. Annual Dividend per Share ($): Enter the amount of dividend you expect to receive per share on an annual basis. This can be zero if the stock does not pay dividends.

Step 3: Specify Growth and Holding Period

  1. Expected Annual Growth Rate (%): Provide your expected annual growth rate for the stock in percentage. This value can range from -100 to 100.
  2. Holding Period (Years): Enter the number of years you plan to hold the stock. The period can range from 1 to 50 years.

Step 4: View the Results

Once all inputs are filled, the calculator will compute and display the following results:

  • Current Total Value: The total value of your shares at the current stock price.
  • Annual Dividend Income: Your annual income from dividends based on the number of shares owned.
  • Current Dividend Yield: The dividend yield percentage calculated from the annual dividend per share and the current stock price.
  • Projected Stock Price: The projected price of the stock after the holding period, considering the expected growth rate.
  • Projected Total Value: The estimated total value of your portfolio based on the projected stock price.
  • Total Return (%): The percentage gain or loss on your investment compared to its current value.
  • Projected Total Dividends: The total dividends you are expected to receive over the holding period.
  • Total Future Value (Including Dividends): The aggregate future value of your stock, including both projected stock price appreciation and dividends.

Remember that all calculated results are presented in their respective formats, such as currency or percentage, with two decimal places for easy interpretation. Use the insights from this calculator to better inform your investment strategy and decisions.
