Gluck Equine Research Center

About Us

The University of Kentucky has been conducting research to protect the health and well-being of the equine population since the early 1900s when the Department of Veterinary Science was established.

In 1985, Maxwell and Muriel Gluck gave a gift that elevated the prestige of the program by establishing the Gluck Equine Research Center, a permanent home for equine research faculty in the Department of Veterinary Science.

Today, the Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Center is the only scientific institute in the United States with nearly all faculty conducting full-time research in equine health and diseases.

The mission of the Gluck Center is scientific discovery, education and dissemination of knowledge for the benefit of the health and well-being of horses.

The Gluck Equine Research Center, a UK Ag Equine Program, is part of the Department of Veterinary Science in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the University of Kentucky
