Academic Services and the Student Success Center is designed to assist student and student-athletes in developing the skills and attitudes necessary for success in college course work at Delta State University. Delta State Athletics partners with the Center to provide support and resources to meet the unique needs of student-athletes. The Academic Support Lab, located in room 311 of the H. L. Nowell Union building, is staffed by a full-time coordinator and upper level students who serve as tutors for the general student population. Additional services are available to strengthen students developmentally in reading comprehension, time management, note taking skills, and study skills. The Academic Support Program also includes study skills classes and study skills workshops that are designed to reinforce academic skills necessary for success in college courses. 

ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM GOALS:
     - Provide support services that are necessary for student success in college courses.
     - Identify at-risk students and meet the needs of those students to increase student retention.
     - Assist students in developing an educational plan consistent with life goals and objectives.
     - Equip students with the skills and attitudes necessary for the attainment of personal goals.
     - Provide accurate information about Delta State University's institutional policies, procedures, and programs. 

LAB HOURS:
Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
