Community Work Transition Program

The Community Work Transition Program (CWTP) is a longstanding project of the University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute (HDI), serving the Commonwealth since 1984 to support students with disabilities in gaining the skills and resources needed to be career ready. Designed to provide a positive beginning in the world of work for students with disabilities, the CWTP, through services provided by district employment specialists in collaboration with local school personnel, supports students with disabilities in being prepared for competitive integrated employment. It is a cooperative effort between participating local school districts, the Kentucky Department of Education, the Kentucky Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, and HDI.
