Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Data

  • Purpose: To provide Maternal and Child Health data to help people learn about the Rhode Island MCH populations. MCH populations include infants, children, adolescents, children with special healthcare needs (CSHCN), and pregnant and post-partum individuals. .
  • Key Information: The Rhode Island Maternal and Child Health program collects data about MCH populations. These data are used to help us decide which activities and policies would most improve the health and wellbeing of Rhode Island MCH populations.
  • How data are collected: There are many data sources available that include MCH related information. These include surveys (Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring Survey, Youth Risk Behavioral Survey, National Survey of Children’s Health) and state data (Vital Records, Hospital Discharge Data).
