Planulozoa adalah sebuah klad yang mencakup Placozoa, Cnidaria (koral dan ubur-ubur) dan Bilateria (hewan lainnya yang lebih kompleks, mencakup cacing, serangga dan vertebrata).[2][3] Penamaan Planulozoa dapat dianggap sebagai sebuah sinonim untuk ParaHoxozoa. Didalam Planulozoa, Placozoa dapat merupakan sebuah klad saudari Cnidaria.[4][5][6][7] Klad ini tidak memasukkan hewan-hewan basal seperti Ctenophora[8][9][3] dan Porifera (spons).[10][11][12]

Planulozoa dihubungkan dengan munculnya domain gen Zoc dan ZF-NC.[13]
