Estimación de la Manutención Infantil para Hogares Monoparentales en las Ciudades Capitales de Bolivia

Abstract

El estudio propone una metodología para la estimación de la manutención infantil, que combina dos enfoques para la estimación del costo de un niño. El primero es el enfoque marginal que aproxima el costo del niño mediante la comparación de un ingreso equivalente que comparara hogares con el mismo nivel de bienestar. El segundo es el enfoque per cápita – promedio que aproxima el costo del niño mediante el denominado gasto exclusivo. En la estimación de la manutención, se utiliza la Encuesta de Presupuestos Familiares 2015-2016 para los hogares de 5 ciudades capitales y la metrópoli de La Paz, que están por encima de la línea de pobreza moderada en Bolivia. Según los resultados, en promedio, la manutención infantil mensual representa el 67% y 97% del salario mínimo nacional cuando el niño estudia en una escuela pública y privada, respectivamente. Se evidencia que estos porcentajes son superiores al mínimo del 20% que establece el Código de las Familias y del Proceso Familiar.
