This presentation will describe an innovative approach to culture change in a residential aged ca... more This presentation will describe an innovative approach to culture change in a residential aged care facility through the development of a completely new staffing and employment model from the ground up. This model encompasses all staff throughout the organisation including environmental, laundry, maintenance and catering. Key features of this new model are the abandonment of the traditional rotating roster, the commitment of staff to work more shifts, and to work with the same residents each time, and the screening of staff to work in a dementia specific environment.
