It's the onus of Indian colleges/universities to be committed to ensure inclusive environment, which would foster inclusive education through creating full access to education, range of services and facilities to the visually challenged students, who enter the college/university with their aspirations in life. An attempt has been made through this paper to project the views and concerns about achieving the goals of ‘Inclusive Education’ in the college/university system through an ‘ICT Enabled Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged Students. This paper emphasizes a successful case of Loyola College Model Resource Centre (LCMRC) of disability services for visually challenged students, which was established at Loyola College in the year 2009 with the grant-in-aid of Rs. 39,32,500/- received from National Institute for the Visually Handicapped, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India to demonstrate how best the college/univ...

Ho... more Job stress continues to be a concern and research interest across occupations and professions. However, to date most studies have addressed the employees working in the corporate sector. However in higher education teachers' professionalism and their attitude towards ethical obligations are believed to be more important for ensuring quality education services. The present study explored similar attitude and its relationship with teachers' demographic and professional profile. The investigation was done through a questionnaire survey involving 137 teachers of one selected academy of higher education in Tamil Nadu. The findings do not provide strong evidence that respondents have desirable commitment to their professional obligations. Also it has been revealed that while teachers' demographic profile has no impact on their attitude but their professional profile has partial impact.

However, it is assumed that any discretion in instructional leadership activity may require substantial support from the existing administrative system and schools' context. Inadequacy of indigenous literature in the related domain makes it difficult, either to define or to understand the phenomenon and related factors. The present preliminary study was planned and conducted to explore how far senior teachers in formal schools had been able to transform learning experiences of students and to effectively engage them in the learning process, including activities. Through an interview guide, authors engaged the selected respondents in conversation and understood through their perceptions and narratives that they are mostly engaged in transactional operations. As it has been perceived by them, the existing pattern of formal education is not adequately conducive for transformational leadership activities in schools.

Moreover, employee stress has cost implications on the stakeholders, i.e. employers and employees alike. There is inadequate empirical evidence that could shed light on job stress and burnout issues of hotel employees with reference to India. Also, the nature and level of hospitality employee stress is not fully understood. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of job satisfaction and job stress on the life of employees in the hospitality sector in Mumbai. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from a total of 510 respondents (23 for inductive and 487 for the deductive study) from six five-star category hotels in Mumbai. It utilizes a sequential mixed-method approach to measures the study variables through phenomenography and then validates their causal relationship through partial least squares structural equation modeling using Smart PLS-SEM. Findings In the...

Indigenous technology, indigenous methods and indigenous knowledge might have evolved as popular ... more Indigenous technology, indigenous methods and indigenous knowledge might have evolved as popular jargons to familiarize the contemporary approaches of sustainable development. But ‘inclusive growth and development of indigenous populations’—an implied and inseparable principle of sustainable development process holds almost little importance in India. The hidden agenda, behind argument of ‘mainstreaming of those communities’ had been the expropriation of their resources in the name of their development. It is an undisputed truth that where the nature is rich, the local people are still living below poverty line. Since 1980, almost 12-13 percent of the total forest area in the entire country, including north-east regions, diverted for mining and related industrial activities. The people, mostly the indigenous tribal populations, were relocated and displaced without adequate compensation and rehabilitation. That consistent and sustainable exploitation might have been one of the factor...

The domain of management research is yet to be circumscribed. It is necessary to seek reasonable contribution from archaeology, history, social/cultural and organizational anthropology, economics, political science, political economy, cultural economics, social psychology, industrial psychology, human geography, sociology, education, demography, criminology, social work, linguistics etc. ‘Social science’ is viewed as an ‘unitary discipline’ having concern for society with a ‘holistic angle,’ wherein the barriers or walls between the various disciplines are broken, at least at the higher level of understanding the societal issues, including business and management, and especially at the research level.
