The TATIN-PIC project envisions a true multi-surface collaborative work environment with an interactive tabletop, an interactive board display, tablet PCs, and smartphones. In this paper, we first present the middleware based on a multi-agent architecture which use in our implementation, and then we detail how voice-controlled personal assistant agents can be ...

We argue that speci®c portals developed using groupware technology and products should be augmented by agents in order to increase the overall system reactivity and achieve the global objective, namely to save time. We describe a portal we have developed using a groupware approach, we give the structure of a system of cognitive agents, and discuss our current attempt to bring the two technologies together.

In this article, we present the TATIN-PIC platform, as well as our evaluation methodology which focuses on crucial face-to-face communication around the interactive tabletop.

We describe how we designed intelligent virtual agents that are able to perform tasks on a high-risk plant and that respond to expected as well as unexpected events. We proposed an informed virtual environment where agents are able to interact with other agents or avatars. By enhancing their reasoning abilities with cognitive rules and the environment with knowledge the virtual agents are able to exhibit deviated behaviors.

A new candidate phrase generation method is proposed based on the core word expansion algorithm, which can reduce the size of candidate set by about 75% without increasing the computational complexity. Then in the step of feature calculation, when a phrase and its sub-phrases coexist as candidates, an inverse document frequency related feature is introduced for selecting the proper granularity. Experimental results show the efficiency and effectiveness of the refined candidate set and demonstrate that the overall performance of our system compares favorably with other known keyphrase extraction systems.

It is expected that such mechanisms play an important role in the context of so-called ICAD systems, providing a more rational and efficient management of geometric data. Benefitting from the object-oriented programming concepts of encapsulation, inheritance, and data abstraction, it will be possible to add spatial reasoning capabilities (restricted in our case to indexing problems) to already existing environments with minor changes from an organizational point of view.

Several technologies seem to be good candidates for supporting CSCW among which groupware or agents. Groupware is efficient but rather inflexible, multi-agent systems are more flexible but difficult to implement. OMAS (Open Multi-Agent System) is a multi-agent platform derived from a number of previous research projects and teaching courses. With OMAS we tried
