Existing scientific developments have enabled new technological approaches to emerge. 'Internet o... more Existing scientific developments have enabled new technological approaches to emerge. 'Internet of Objects' (IoT) technology is one of these approaches. Using the standard internet protocol, this technology can transfer wirelessly the data obtained by digitizing the data of the object or the domain of the adapter that it is adapting to the server. Digitized data; can be humidity, noise, temperature, pressure, of an environment etc., as well as the number of uses of any device, energy consumption, damage analysis, physical condition or security management. A server or interconnected objects can be controlled remotely by the user via the Internet. In this regard, IoT technology offers significant opportunities for use in living spaces. The emergence of applications such as 'Smart Connected Homes' can be expressed in this context. In the literature review, it is seen that there are many academic studies about the use of IoT technology in smart houses. In the literature review, it is seen that there are many academic studies about the use of IoT technology in smart houses. In these researches, IoT technology is used in smart houses; Security, privacy, personalization and physical environment control. This study aims to examine the academic studies on the use of IoT in smart homes through a systematic literature review from the beginning of the 2000s. Scanned work is classified according to their content and keywords and analyzed in detail within the scope of examining IoT technology. With this study, it is also aimed to draw attention to the untouched points by foreseeing future use of IoT in intelligent houses.

Therefore, both design and designers and end users have tried to determine the use of these applications and their identified deficiencies. In the future, AR is considered to be a powerful influence on the interior designer and user axis, and is considered as a new technique and strategy that will contribute to the transformation of the space concept into technology coexistence. The AR technologies, to be deemed as having strong effect within the framework of interior designer and user, are evaluated as a new technique and strategy that will make a significant contribution to the transformation of space concept in line with the developing technologies.

Bu teknolojilerden birisi de çalışmanın odağında bulunan Artırılmış Gerçeklik (AG) teknolojisidir. AG teknolojisi, gerçek ve sanalın karışımı olan bir yaklaşımı ifade etmektedir. Gerçek bir mekân veya nesne ile sanal objenin aynı platformda birleştirilmesi esasına dayanan AG, bu yolla kullanıcının etkileşime girdiği nesne hakkında daha fazla bilgi almasını hedeflemektedir. AG uygulamaları günümüzde, mobil akıllı cihazların yaygınlaşmasıyla geniş bir kullanıcı kitlesi tarafından deneyimlenebilmektedir. Bu çalışma, yeni bir teknik olan AG teknolojisinin iç mekânın temsil ve deneyiminde bir araç olarak kullanımını ve kullanıcı deneyimine etkilerini, mobil iç mekân AG uygulamalarının etkinlikleri çerçevesinde tartışmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak çalışmada, Şubat 2018 tarihi itibariyle Google Play ve Apple Store mobil mağazalarında ‘augmented reality interior design’ ifadesiyle aranarak bulunan Android ve IOS tabanlı yedi mobil iç mekân AG uygulamaları karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Dolayısıyla hem tasarım alanında hem de tasarımcı ve son kullanıcı açısından bu uygulamaların kullanım olanaklarının sınıflandırılması ve tespit edilen eksikliklerinin belirlenmesine çalışılmıştır. Gelecekte, iç mekân tasarımcısı ve kullanıcısı ekseninde güçlü bir etkisi olacağı düşünülen AG, mekân kavramının teknoloji eşliğinde dönüşümüne katkı sağlayacak yeni bir teknik ve strateji olarak değerlendirilmektedir.

Sayısal teknoloji alanında yaşanan bu değişim insan yaşam konforunu da pek çok açıdan pozitif yönde etkilemiştir. Sayısal teknoloji temelli üretim, yeni malzeme türlerinin gelişimi, tasarım ve temsil sürecinde bilgisayar destekli tasarımın yani CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) programlarının kullanımı gibi etkenler bu olumlu kazanımlardan bazılarıdır. Diğer taraftan ortaya konulan tasarımların yapay olarak deneyimlenebilmesini sağlayan simulatif uygulamaların çeşitlenmesinin de hayati bir etkisi olmuştur. Bu bağlamda fiziki dünyanın gerçekçi bir şekilde tecrübe edilmesine olanak sağlayan sanal gerçeklik (SG) kavramı eğlence, uçuş simülatörleri, cerrahi eğitim programları ve uzaktan kontrol gibi alanlarda olduğu gibi iç mekân tasarım, geliştirme ve deneyimleme sürecinin de vazgeçilmez bir aracı olmaya adaydır. Bu noktada sanal gerçekliğin, mekânsal deneyim anlamında sadece bilgisayar monitöründen izlenebilmesinin ötesinde, çok daha büyük bir etkileşim potansiyeline sahip olduğundan söz etmek mümkündür. Bu çalışmanın amacı dalma (immersion) etkisine sahip sanal gerçeklik sistemlerinin iç mekân deneyiminde oynadığı rol ve sanal çevrede insan-mekân etkileşiminin boyutlarını tartışmaktır. Aynı zamanda bilgisayar destekli tasarım yöntemiyle modellenmiş olan mekânların veya nesnelerin, kapsayıcı sentetik ortama taşınmasıyla ortaya çıkan dalma tecrübesinin tasarıma, tasarımcıya ve kullanıcıya olası geri dönüşlerini irdelemek de çalışmanın diğer amacını tanımlamaktadır. Böylece yeni oluşan tasarım ve temsil anlayışının mekân tasarlama eylemine sunacağı katkıların tartışılması hedeflenmektedir. The last century has been a period of time during which humanity witnessed technologically revolu... more The last century has been a period of time during which humanity witnessed technologically revolutionary developments. We can say that the aspect of these developments which penetrated into human life to the greatest extent is the innovations and inventions experienced in field of digital technology. Apparently, the effect of this occurred technological rise that increases human life comfort is not only visible in many fields, but also felt in the context of interior space. The increase in new materials and production diversity based of technological development, emergence of techniques and strategies which support the design process are also included in such changes. Some other approaches including digital based CAD/CAM programs, 2D, 3D modeling, animation, virtual image production and virtual reality practices may also be specified within the instruments belonging to this strategy. Particularly, the fact that virtual reality enables to experience physical world in realistic sense and makes progress in mobilization points out that this technology would be critically important in the forthcoming process. Intervention of virtuality into experiencing the real space in this way may be stated as a natural selection of architecture in a sense. The purpose of this study to discuss the use of virtual reality as an interior interface and to scrutinize technically that how can virtual reality devices be used for this purpose. Elements that constitute the general structure of the study are the experience of interior organization in the virtual environment and the role of virtuality in the space-human interaction as an interface. In this context, the effect created by three-dimensional diving into the synthetic environment and virtual experience of different spatial probabilities created are mentioned. Also, the historical development of virtual reality technology and examples, the use of the interface concept and expressing at the interior point constitute another approach.

It is seen as a result of the current literature studies that the interior architecture education and training process is also affected by these technological developments and related new applications. As in all other professions, it is inevitable that the rapid change in technology will affect the revision and update processes in interior architecture education (Arabacıoğlu & Arabacıoğlu, 2013). Technologies such as ‘Augmented Reality -AR’, ‘Mi‘Virtual Reality’ (VR), which are at the focus of the study, are also It is considered as some of the new technological platforms. VR technology enables users to experience a computer-generated virtual world at a level similar to that of physical reality by mentally abstracting from the physical space. Within the scope of the study, it was evaluated that VR technology can also be integrated into interior architecture education. It is thought that VR will help to convey the interior structure details, which are the components of the space and the components of the space, to interior architecture students more accurately, so that the students will better and quickly understand the aforementioned subjects.
