We were told it would have to be 10’, but after a long debate, we were able to do 11’ ceilings! The issue had to do with the code for our staircase and having a second story over that area. In the end I am very happy with the 11’ ceiling! I love the extra storage I get having my cabinets go to 10’! And I’m still super happy we did beams instead of taking…
