Neogenicum

E Vicipaedia

Neogenicum[1] (scil. "aevum") est periodus geologica.

Divisio secunda ab infima constituit aerae Kaenozoicae, decima autem ab infima aeonis Phanerozoicae. Abhinc 23 030 milium annorum coepit, antecessore Palaeogenico. Finem habuit abhinc 2 588 milium annorum, successore Quaternario, secundum scalam aevorum geologicorum Commissionis Internationalis Stratigraphicae.[2]

In duas epochas vel series dividitur, videlicet inferior Miocaenum, superior Pliocaenum appellantur.
