Piksel

Dalam bidang imejan digital, piksel (picture element[1] atau unsur gambar) merupakan cebisan maklumat yang paling kecil dalam sesuatu imej. Piksel biasanya disusun dalam sebidang grid dua matra, dan berbentuk titik atau petak halus. Setiap piksel adalah satu sampel dari imej asli, oleh itu lebih banyak sampelnya maka lebih tepat gambaran imej asli tersebut. Keamatan setiap piksel adalah berbagai-bagai; dalam sistem paparan berwarna, setiap piksel biasanya mengandungi tiga atau empat komponen seperti merah, hijau dan biru, atau sian, magenta, kuning dan hitam.
Selain piksel, terdapat juga voksel (volume element atau unsur isi padu)[2] dan teksel (texture element atau unsur tekstur)[3].

These cells are often called voxels (volume elements), in analogy to pixels.

This approach is known as texture mapping or pattern mapping; the image is called a texture map, and its individual elements are often called texels.
