BUY– Innolux – Double Bubble lamp – design Eero Aarnio, 2000 – Eero Aarnio designed the Double Bubble lamp in 2000. After having some prototypes made from blown glass, the designer ultimately decided on a plastic material to ensure durability and uniform colour of light. The finished product was first presented in 2003 at an exhibition celebrating Eero Aarnio’s career of 50 years.

At the first sight the Tomato Chair looks complicated, but the second look shows an intelligent combination of three circles with same diameter, two of them being armrests, one stretched to a comfortable back, and even a fourth half circle up side down giving the chair a consequent seat. Beginning in the early 1960’s Finnish architect Eero Aarnio was one of the early adopters of the use of plastics in furniture design. Experimenting with simple, colorful forms he explored fanciful, futuristic theme that embodied the decade's ‘Space Age’ aesthetic. Certainly one of his most noted designs is the ‘ Ball Chair’, a private personal sitting space produced by Asko of Finland and was a instant sensation when introduced in 1963.
