This outstanding Classical Revival courthouse was designed by the architect Reuben Harrison Hunt; it was erected in 1904-06. The structure is a contributing property to the Cotton Row Historic District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Greenwood is the "Cotton Capital of the World" so that would make this building the Cotton Capitol Building.
