A fine, late Victorian mahogany and brass magic lantern by Perken & Son of Hatton Garden, London. This beautiful old projector was made under the ‘Optimus’ trademark which it registered in 1885. It would have been used for projecting glass magic lantern slides in days long before the advent of cinema.

Leo created this leaded glass window and embellished it with antique religious 'magic lantern' slides. The original window in their one-time carriage house opened so that people on the nearby estate could signal the carriage boy to bring their ride.
